I don't think Fortnite is going anywhere soon, unless they really screw up. I play it daily.

It's wild to me that Candy Crush is STILL such a behemoth of making money from a mobile app. It's just not ever within my circles at all, I don't think I know a single human being who plays it let alone spends money on it!

I haven't been able to get on here for 2 days and now there's 47 pages since my last post saying there were 13 pages I was planning on looking though. so 60 total in 2 days... which isn't helped by the fact I can't stay on right now either.

Consistence access is what people actually care about. Convenience is still king so until Steam becomes inconvenient I doubt there will be a sudden boom in game piracy in the PC space.

I think you're right. And above all, nothing changed, it's the nature of digital goods. It's the same for Amazon/Kindle, for instance. They can just delete the books you "bought".
Personally, I backup the games I never want to lose. If Steam ever stops supporting them, I can still look on the high seas for a solution.

Yea, I've used steam for so many years that I cant really switch to any other launcher. I get so many friends telling me about the free games on Epic launcher, but I cant be bothered managing my games between multiple launchers.

I believe this is at the core of the antitrust lawsuit against Steam. Other companies seem to want to force Steam to split off the client from the store, so customers from other stores can still use Steam's infrastructure.
Personally, I don't understand why the other stores have a difficult time competing with Steam. There are tons of innovations companies could do to make them stand out, but they all fuck it up. By having not enough features (Epic), tons of bugs (EA), unreliable service (Epic/EA), or treating the customers as the product instead of the games they're selling.

For sure Steam is my most used, but the audacity to say we don't own the games...

You never did. Have you ever been able to resell a Steam game?

This is how I feel with all the other launchers as well, like I don't mind running my PC and Steam just always being open but when you start adding like 2-3 other launchers for different libraries of games I just cannot be bothered with juggling them all lol, Steam is just far too convenient.

Then there's the NVIDIA launcher, Corsair, Logitech... I'm kinda done with all of that extra software that does nothing but eat RAM and gather user statistics.

They tried to do a Half Life... Gabe was smart by changing Valve from a game maker to a game store. If the Epic store takes off, it's passive income for the company.
