I like MMORPGs and I like reading people talk about something they like, so maybe I'll be interested in playing a new MMORPG too, the best review and recommendation would be the opinion of someone who enjoys that game, no matter how subjective that opinion is.

Personally my favorite is Guild Wars 2, although it's graphically old, its art style is gorgeous, its mechanics are fun, the PvE is quite extensive and varied and although personally the PvP doesn't appeal to me, GW2's PvP is so good that it got me hooked for a long time. But above all, it respects my time as a player, there's grinding, but not exaggerated and if you stop playing for a while, when you come back you don't need to farm everything from scratch for new content.

Everquest was the GOAT for me. I also loved playing Maplestory 1 and 2. I have yet to find a MMO that has me hooked. Sorry forgot the why. EQ for me was the last bastion of games that didnt hold your hand and punished you harshly so in a way that you're thinking about what you are doing and not becoming Leroy Jenkins.

Back in the day i loved to play DOFUS, just loved the character desing and the biulds you could do there, and also played a shit ton of RuneScape with my brother, ah the good old days

I never got into MMOs, when I wanted to play I had a shitty PC, then when I got a decent one, I lost all will to play this style, I think I would be interested in something similar to modern Action RPGs.

BlackDesert, FFXIV or GW2 could be what you are looking for.

Mostly only have time for one these days, FFXIV. Probably my favourite one I've played over the years, despite whatever problems people seem to get hung up on I still love it. Though I still probably have more logged time in RuneScape from childhood lol.

I was never that much for MMORPGs. The only one I really got into was SWTOR, and to an extent that was because it didn't completely feel like an MMO- a lot of it felt like playing a regular RPG, there were just a bunch of other people around. And I really enjoyed the class stories and the feeling that e.g. my Sith Inquisitor was on a totally different but equally epic adventure as my friend's Trooper. But then at some point after the class stories wrapped up and KotFE rolled around, it felt like the individuality of the characters had disappeared and everyone was basically playing the same class. So I drifted away except for a couple bouts of returning for a spell to play a new character.

Started out with FFXI and just fell in love with it and the community, the people I met through the game, the visuals, story. Just really enjoyed it all. Sadly, things slowed and felt there wasn't anything more could do in the game. So left. Thought about checking out FFXIV, but just don't have the time to invest in MMORPGs anymore. thought after leaving FFXI did get dragged into WoW as my circle of friends were all playing. While I felt, visual, it didn't compare...it grew on me, and was back to enjoying the game, running amok as my Goblin hunter.

I think it's worth mentioning that you can play FFXIV almost entirely like a single player RPG if you wanted to, outside of a couple of instances that haven't been updated to include NPC helpers - if you didn't feel like interacting with players and just going on whenever you feel like it anyway. I personally think it's worth it just to play through the story at least up until the end of the Endwalker expansion. The early expansions suffer from age and a fair bit of padding but I think it's worth the payoff. I think it's also still free to try up until level 70, which rounds out the Stormblood expansion, you just have a few restrictions like trading and stuff if I remember correctly.

Huge fan of FFXIV. Been with it since the beta for A Realm Reborn. Endgame content is challenging for sure, but I also really enjoy the housing system.

Runescape always comeback to it around a month each year

FFXIV
I'm just a huge fan FF
It's a childhood game for me, so I don't miss games of this series

Lost Ark, it's pretty grindy but it has something that wants you to play it. I stopped some time ago after reaching around 2,5k hours in one year.
The difficulty is big part of why it's so addicting and can't say it looks bad

I love DOFUS, it has unique gameplay and the art of the game is wonderful... my only problem is the subscription model it has, how abusive it is with the subject of professions and above all, the change in removing the option to customize the points in the skills.

Don't play them. Don't play any online games whatsoever.

I drop in and out of final fantasy 14 but right now I'm all in on The First Descendant.

Going to be honest brother, back in the day when i played i didn't have any money on me so i wasn't able to pay subscription so i don't really know how abusive the system was, but damn what a shame. Also feels bad that they cut down on customization i remember i used to love it.

At least i have the memories of having fun with it hahaha.

I played WoW for a few years. It was great back in the WotLK days. Most of the areas were interesting enough that youd want to explore them, the music was some of the best fantasy game music ive ever heard and there was always something that I wanted to go explore or collect. havent been able to find its equivalent since I quit other games just dont do what it did for me anyways.
