What's your most anticipated game? (Can be also AVN)

Mine would be DOOM: The Dark Ages
Love the DOOM series and the new ideas look badass (like mecha or flying on a dragon)

I don't know about every court in the world... I'm sure there are countries where they'd just get a bullet. In the case of European courts, some rapists are let go citing intelligence (and cultural) reasons. Pretty much the whole "let's not punish or rehabilitate him, he didn't know any better". As far as I've seen, outside of Europe, low intelligence can be a mitigating factor otherwise, but is usually combined with a different form of punishment or treatment.

AS far as the EU goes not knowing you're breaking the law is a mitigating factor. It won't let you of the hook but your sentence will be lesser

It all depends on the individual judge and how often they themselves get their rape on. Can't prosecute without precedent.

What do you mean you can't prosecute without precedent? that's what penal laws/codes are for right? around here you can't prosecute for acts that are not stated in the penal code as criminal acts (makes you wonder if there are still some criminal loopholes)

Of course there are. Mainly related to financial crimes, corruption and freedom of speech. Nothing like "Oh, I didn't know rapping and killing is forbidden". Like, for example, here is forbidden to post real nudes, but it's not an excuse to not know the law.

The lurker lore thread is also worth a read.

As always: It depends. Some games or other software might not run on Linux. I use my Windows machine less and less, because almost everything I'm interested in at the moment runs fine on my (Linux-) couch PC.

I have not used Windows since Vista

Around here precedent is not the defining point of criminality. for financial crimes using newer methods you'll get judged using the penalties defined for older equivalent acts (think mail fraud to telephone fraud).
For things like murder or rape "i didn't know" won't fly in court but "I'm unable to know" definitely can
In this set of courts not knowing that posting nudes goes against the rules could result in lesser punishment. Then again you would need to provide some sort of argument/proof of your lack of knowledge.

LEWD CORNER, came for games+ stayed for the interesting legal talks

Hello and welcome to you darksurge_!
If you haven't take a look at the very first post of the thread, and take a stroll through the university, both places have some really good to know info!
The Coin-Hustlers University

Also, please remember to quote the post you replying to, even if that post is above yours.
Sometimes it can be hard to put together, who people are responding to.

Thanks, OGSD, you have no idea how much that means to me.

Ngl, it's more than I got IRL... (I'm all verklempt.)

I'm surprised, shocked, and flattered that ya even remembered me.

Ya know had it not been for @Sarya (?) liking your comment (or something adjacent)- I doubt I would've even seen your message.

If ANY of you love your Mama (and she's still alive)- let her know how much she means to you.
Tell her, call her, text her, email her, hell- send her a card, something, anything.

Because one day you may hold out your arms for a warm, loving embrace- only to discover that they remain empty and cold forever.

The only thing worse than regret is loss.

Honestly, I am not looking forward for any of the upcoming games. Last one I anticipated was (at least for me) a hardcore disappointment.

I'm honestly surprised at your surprise... The dev has been working hard on it and regularly posts updates.
