discussion Games like Eternum?/game recommendations

I'm looking for any good recommendations for games like Eternum. i just finished the current content and its gotta be one of my all time favorites now..
So have you come across any games that are similar? I'm looking for a story that gets you emotionally invested in the characters and the story, with amazing scenes both in the bedroom and on the battlefield, just something that grabs your attention and draws you in.
Please share your expertise with me!

First look at Once in a Lifetime, the completed previous game by the same developer. It's different from Eternum in many ways and the renders weren't as perfect yet, but it has a fantastic story and atmosphere. Side character Stabby Mike could well be the most frequently cited original AVN character in AVNs by other developers.

oh dang yeah, I'll still give it a go though so thanks. and i saw that the dev left his work behind so that someone could possibly continue? that'd would be kinda cool, its just always sad to see a game abandoned like that. like watching a good anime that never gets a second season

If necessary, give the game some time to convince you. It's a while since I played it, but as it is Caribdis' first AVN it probably took him some time to find his voice. But over on f-95, it has exactly the same rating as Eternum (4.8 / 5 stars) with almost the same number of reviews (960 vs 1046).
For some reason I thought that Eternum was technically a sequel of Once in a Lifetime (same MC), but that isn't true. There are a strong similarities between the two MCs' family backgrounds, however, and there is a hidden allusion to Once in a Lifetime ("President Stabb[y Mike]") in the first scene of Eternum.

Yep their discord has been revitalized and new chapter should be being worked on now or soon.

One of my personal favorites in terms of emotionally investing stories would be Now & Then by ILSProductions. The creators are also working on 2 more games that has the same depth of story telling. Should try it out if you haven't.

I had Now & Then lying around on my hard disk for a while. Now I finally started playing it, and I must say: Yes! It's on exactly the same high quality level as Eternum, while obviously being radically different in many ways. It's a very beautiful and emotional story of a widower and his 18-year-old adopted daughter trying to survive in an epidemic that is essentially the zombie apocalypse.

Much more emotional than Eternum. If that's what you want, I can also recommend the pure harem story Cosy Cafe, which people often describe as 'wholesome'.

For somehing much closer to Eternum in character, and perhaps even closer to Once in a Lifetime, I can recommend My Bully is my Lover. In addition to what I just said plus also a harem, it contains what may well be the greatest couple love story ever told in an AVN. Another thing that is very special about it: While being relatively kinetic locally if I remember correctly, it has absolutely enormous non-local branching. You could consider it completed in that there is one long full (couple) ending. But development continues for equally long other full endings that take the story in totally different directions with different love interests. It looks like there will be a harem ending in the future.

Two caveats: no battlefield and I don't fucking remember how bedroom scenes measure up to Eternum... the story is just that good, and that's all I remember. Also, pay attention, this one hits hard, and I mean, really hard. If you're in a dark place right now, forget my recommandation.
