I think that these sort of things do affect us but it’s not something people like to acknowledge. It can be an unpleasant and harrowing experience to look at yourself in the mirror and admit that these things do impact us.

But at the end of the day you have the choice on what you do in this life don’t forget that. So just because you might like these things it doesn’t mean you’ll bring it out into the real world. Like they say you can’t blame someone for having bad thoughts but you can if that is their intention.

personaly i say no. Its all just fantasy.
But if you are a person who might have a mental instability, it could harm your mental state.
So pls be aware, that all what you see and read isnt reality, and never will become reality.

No effect... I believe that something only happens to people who are already mentally disturbed. I once saw on TV a boy who consumed a lot of Jeff the Killer content, and because of his already mentally disturbed condition, he ended up killing his parents and even called the police saying that the Jeff who was inside his head ordered him to commit the crime. BIZARRE!

As much as watching The Family Guy... which is to say not at all. Know the difference between fantasy and reality. Avoiding tags I hate makes it even easier.

only on my intrusive thought. i can control myself.

Thats exactly what i meant. If you are a troubled kid, stop using!

Let's be honest; you can't expect anyone to be able to identify how an experience affects their sub conscious. All of these answers are just fiction and cope. Indulging in immoral fantasies probably has unrecognizable effects on ones personality but to varying degrees.

Honestly I don't think so but it is a slipperly slope depending on where you start, cause I initially automatically didn't bother reading doujins with ugly bastards but after awhile I started to ignore them entirely while reading it

Haven't noticed any changes in myself. But then again, I do not play dark games often.

Does playing Dark Games affect your personality in real life?

Pretty sure my eyesight got worse because of all the bad lighted games oh wait you talk about dark themed games?

do i want to ride an ostrich after playing final fantasy games?
no.
Yes. :p

Did I want to fuck Tifa? No.

No. There is no harm involved in bad behavior during a game whereas in real life you would do real harm. I enjoy it in games and I don't do it in real life. There's a red line.

For most people I think this is a no. But even if it does affect you and gives you a intrusive thought sometimes, any reasonable person will know the difference between fantasy and reality and know not to act on it.

"The media made me do it" is usually an weak excuse for when people want to blame anything but themselves.

I do think they affact us in some way. The first time I've watched porn my stomach hurt and I felt disgusted but now I do not feel that in the slightest. But outside of getting a "tolerance" I can not say it affects me in a serious way. For example while I play games that involve rape I can still not fathom how anyone could gain pleasure from that irl. I think it's the same with horror movies, you get more used to seeing (fake) violence but at least for me real gore is still a million miles too far and something I can't imagine getting used to, ever.

Does playing mind control, blackmail, rape, forced, etc genre type games affect your personality where you feel like whenever you see a hot girl you feel like to corrupt her or rape her?

I think you'll find that your personality affects what games you play. If you didn't have some interest in ''blackmail, rape, forced etc'' in the real world (even if only in your head) then you wouldn't be playing games with those fetishes, and just because we have thoughts about them and play games featuring those fetishes doesn't mean we will start kidnapping or raping people on the street, generally, you'll find that people who have a healthy outlet for their fetishes are less likely to engage in that kind of behaviour in a real-world environment.

So no I don't believe that playing those games affects my personality, I believe my personality is the reason why I'm playing those games, it's an escape from the banal existence of life where I can live out dreams and desires that in the real world would be shunned and probably have me locked up or worse.
