I know of a couple people that have lost fingers from back when I worked in the oil fields, usually smash injuries. But the stupidest one was a guy that was using a fancy chipper shredder that he was forever bragging about - until it jammed one day with a branch and he reached in to clear the jam. Lost three fingers. The guy had to learn how to use a mouse with his left hand after that.

True enough, but those fantasy axes are just as likely to harm the person trying to use them as their intended target. So much bullshit out there and so many people buy into it because it's "cool".

Something that's as heavy as those seem to be are also lousy for a fight - harder to control, tire you out faster. Light and swift with the weight concentrated in one spot is what makes a hand axe effective. Doubt that douche would know what to do with an actual Scandi/Norse fighting axe of the late Migration Period.

They did better, but they still had dudes in Doc Martens and way more leather than historic records and sagas would indicate. That particular axe isn't awful, but still a bit ahistoric.
