So I am a pro game dev that has worked on some super big titles and was looking for a fun dirty project to work on in my personal time.

I want to get a feel for what people love/hate the most about these type of games (besides the obvious) and see what I can come up with story/gameplay wise.

What's everyone opinion about the games? (Not the devs - I know some arent the best)

Hate - blueballing/slow burn/teasing. It's not cool, it's annoying as fuck and makes most players want to punch the dev so hard their face turns inside-out.

PRO
* Different characters with real motivations and backgrounds - each character feels genuine.
* Storyline that seems plausible, something that we can relate to, even if a little fantastic.
* Wish fulfillment - everybody wants to be wanted, desired. But let's temper it with the reality side just a bit - having 100 women who want to fuck you the minute they meet you seems boring.
* Variety of different partner types - curvy MILF, athletic teen, whatever. Too boring when it's just 5 of the same women with a different head.

CON
* Too long, too wordy. We're all just trying to get into this game to make jerking off more mentally stimulating. Let's not waste *too* much time with 10,000 words of dialog and plot before we get there.
* Ridiculous premises - "Oh you're the best assassin for the Tanaka Clan, but your father has been killed and now you must protect your mother and sister from ninjas, and also the ninjas are sex maniac teenage high school girls, and your aunt and two nieces have decided to visit, and your childhood friend is also now here."
* Repetitive actions, grind. I don't want to have to "Get Shari's 'love' score to 150 before she lets you see her nipples" when it requires you to pat her head once every morning and buy her a coffee once every afternoon to get a single point."

SEX SPECIFIC
* The male character's dick should be big enough to be impressive but not so big it's like the size of the female character's leg or something. I don't want to see a dude's dick WEARING a girl like a condom (unless that's the plot of the entire thing or something)
* If there are fetishes/kinks, be clear beforehand, and make it more than just the MC's kink. If this dude likes to tie women up and eat ass, there should be SOMEBODY there that he can high five afterwards. "Nice ass eating, bruh!"

Also, please add a gallery/replay that can be accessed at any time and fully unlocked by players with a toggle switch.

I like this idea. Maybe even do an arranged marriage?

ACT 1
Wedding night - both partners from conservative/traditional families and are nervous about their first time together. The woman is reluctant but does her duty.

As they spend more time together, the man begins corrupting her. She begins enjoying slight kinks like minor voyeurism, wearing a buttplug under her clothes, whatever.

There is a harem-like policy as this man, now a powerful local businessman or similar, has a group of women who he can bed, with varying degrees of consent ranging from a passionate yes to reluctance.

Pen sex? Any grinding is a very bad thing. Too much yakking, long story telling, etc without sex is really bad, and anything that ends in "job" is a waste of time. ESPECIALLY handjob.

From my point of view, good porn games fall into three categories:

1. Visual novels (or sometimes more precisely visual short stories, or sitcoms in visual novel form, etc.) implemented in Ren'Py. Almost all good porn games fall into this category. These are not really games in the strict sense.
2. 3D sex simulators implemented in typical game engines such as Unity. These are not really games, either. The reasonably good ones are very rare, especially if you also require that they run well on non-gaming PCs. Right now I can't think of any besides Fallen Doll.
3. Good games that happen to have porn content as well. Also extremely rare.

As an experienced game developer you could probably make the biggest splash by going in the direction of category 2 or 3 (or both combined). But for a spare time project, category 1 is probably the most satisfactory choice. If you go in that direction, I would recommend borrowing a good plot from a book, film or TV series and adapting it without major changes to the structure. Maybe not the umpteenth Harry Potter parody, though.

Mind you this isn't a universal opinion, OP. Personally I think a scene of non-penetrative actions between two characters who really want to have sex can be very arousing.

But that's kinda just a thing with this type of thread- for any opinion someone gives, someone else will have the opposite opinion.

I personally would just like a game more based in reality there so many games where your the best ever or something all those lines but I also don't want a mc who is questioning himself every to seconds and sounds like a bitch that has no agency and is essentially forced by the other characters into situations and finally relents

honestly as long as you have any talent, creative vision, or desire to do any thing other then a basic VN, or trainer game with occasional lewd images. what ever you make will be better than 90% of games, especially if you intend to post for the + section.
games like karyns prison, myst, Third Crisis, Battle of the Bulges, sexbot, Corrupted Kingdoms, Treasure of Nadia, Four Elements Trainer, Camp Mourning Wood, Rogue-like: Evolution, Winter Memories, Take Over, and LonaRPG are good inspiration
basically can you integrate the lewdness in to the game system rather then it just being a game that has lewd events in it.
