discussion ASMR - kinky or shitty ?

There's a trend I totally ignored those last year, but that seemed to grow a lot in popularity, and it's ASMR. I guess I lack imagination, or just need visuals, but girls talking sweetly into microphone or general videos about nature sounds have little to no interest for me. Not that I don't understand the appeal, just that I don't share it. Also sometimes it seems a bit low effort, or is it just me ?

ASMR is a plague imo. It is very cringe, and I get nauseous every time I hear it or see it when surfing through social media.

Most things I associate with ASMR I do not like, what's the point of hearing someone eat? Or scraping of pieces of soap? Dafuck?
On the other hand I've seen things labeled "ASMR" when it's just the ambient sounds of somebody doing woodworking, or clothes measuring/making, etc... In that case ASMR it just means "no talking", something I don't mind in that case.

I could never just sit and listen to it. But it sometimes helps as white noise when I'm trying to sleep, like listening to a rain/thunder app. The sexual ASMR alone doesn't do it for me. But if you pair it with a video of Amaranth licking microphones in a low cut shirt, then it's not so bad

Haha, I use the rain/thunder noises to fall asleep. I'd use the licking/moaning ASMR for something else

EXACTLY , a friend i know uses it to fall asleep but for me its kinda annoying ? like i want to fall asleep not get jumpscared by random thunder in a "Rain ASMR"
