Back in the mid 2010s, YouTube and especially YouTube Kids became the world's free digital babysitter. And ya know what they say.... "There's no such thing as a free meal". Parents were like, “Hey, we’ll just plop our kids in front of a tablet with some Elsa and Spider-Man videos, problem solved!” except for the fact that, instead of wholesome Disney content, their kid would end up seeing pregnant Elsa getting needles poked into her while spiderman cried in a cornor, or a pregnant Elsa crying because the hulk slapped the shit out of her. Now I know at least one person on here is sitting there getting ready to go "Yeah yeah yeah... Suuuure, some random people on youtube would just decide to post some clickbait titles like Elsa Spiderman Funny Videos 2014 for no reason". And to that I would respond with, "you're not wrong, it wasn't for no reason"... I say that because there was a reason. This reason just so happened to be because they realized that they could gain the system and take advantage of basic human psychology.

Simply put, kids will click on tons of shit, but, youtube isn't Twitter, you don't get payed for clicks, you get payed for watch time. This is where the real psychological aspect comes into play... They got the kid to click on the video, now they need to keep their attention so that they can get the watch time. Now the way this was done was by making the content as disturbing and/or inappropriate as possible. This is because humans naturally have a negativity bias. It's the same reason that people will rubberneck to see a car crash on the interstate.

I will admit that i do adore both tho, especially if they are floofy. (But I do very much enjoy the calm nature of kitties).
I would just wish that my cats would listen sometimes, more like a dog would.. Especially when i wanna cuddle and they decide independence-right-now is more important to them. Heck one of them already barks when she's scared and follows me around the home like a dog.
