WTF. I just spent a few minutes looking up buying Alcohol in USA and found there were 4 states that closed Bottle shops as we call them on a Sunday. From what I read about in America, I am sitting here thinking but did n`t they repeal prohibition ? On the other hand I can still remember a time here when everything but the pub shut at 12 noon Saturday and stayed closed till Monday. Stayed that way until about 1996, but you could still buy takeaways at the pub bottle shop all Saturday and Sunday. Now both of the 2 major supermarkets here have their own brand of bottleshop attached. and all the smaller ones ie Aldi etc sell Alcohol. More and more people are turning to Home brewing in Oz as the only way of getting a decent drink at a good price. Making your own beer or wine for home consummation is legal here as long as you dont sell it. Spirits you need a license to make When I was a teenager it was easier and quicker to get weed etc, than a beer. I could get Kegs when I was 16 thru the boss at work but for most teens unless your parents or older siblings got it for you, then bad luck till ya 18375 mL isn't that much more than 12 oz, which is the normal size in the US. 24 is a case (which is what they were only sold in outside of bars - at distributors - until a few years ago. Until then grocery stores, etc couldn't sell alcohol at all.)

That really is as fucked up as the old 6pm closing that led to what became known a the 6 o'clock swill. Luckily before my timeThey were closed in my state Sunday until a few years back.
It's still the case that , other than for drinking on premises at bars/restaurants, hard liquor can only be sold in state owned stores. That really is as fucked up as the old 6pm closing that led to what became known a the 6 o'clock swill. Luckily before my time
