I'm not really a fan of AI attempts, and I agree with some that just slapping real porn stars in a game is unimpressive. As for real porn games...
...It could be great if it was done right; but I don't think it can be, given the current climate. An actual production costs a lot of money, even if you push everyone to their limits. Even if you rent equipment and went the crack route, it's going to be costly to get the job done right.

I think its fine that people use what resources they have to put something out there. It's not like good games come out all the time and if the thought of being judged for using real porn stops someone from making a decent game, I'd be against that.

On the other hand, I can't think of any real porn games that were really good. So maybe you do have a point.

My thoughts on it are similar to how I feel about AI-assisted games. I am totally open to these ideas but am yet to see them executed in a compelling way.

RL porn games might or might not work depending on the chosen theme. If you make a brothel-like game that uses character packs, I see no problem in using RL assets. Just pick well known actresses and you can have plenty of material to chose from. If however the game tries to tell a story, it will be pretty impossible to find the correct pics/clips for every scene. It should be judged case to case.

The problem of games with real porn scenes is "getting repetitive". you will see the same scene over and over again with diffrent places with diffrent character . maybe it will be good idea if it mixed with some ai or with a huge library .

I don't know what amount of work actually goes into these, and I never will. I see no point in engaging these types of games. if I want real porn, I'd just look it up, not play some game.

There are some great real porn games out there thou... The Company and College Daze to name the few... i think people here resenting them mainly because for real porn game with LC's preferred age bracket "actors" you will get one way ticket to certain place really really fast.

they are alright but the inconsistencies kinda ruin the immersion. if the clips actually match what is happening and its not just a different porn star every time for the same character its cool

games that just take clips from real porn is kinda lazy and im not a fan of it but if some one wants to go out of their way and make a full FMV style game from that ground up that would be much better and ok with me

To be honest I really don't like any games with real porn but then again my tastes and kinks would be impossible to create in real life, so i don't bother downloading or playing these types of games.

Most games using real porn tend to be lazy since they just use pictures from other videos or photoshoots.

What bothers me the most is the inconsistencies with characters throughout the game. One scene they are fucking a blonde chick next it's a red head.

They could theoretically be good, but that would require at least the same effort as for using Honey Select or similar and a very different approach to story telling: Careful choice of images that together form a consistent story, and then the images decide the story with very little flexibility for the author. This never happens because authors/developers who are prepared to spend so much effort on a game or visual novel usually have their own ideas for the story.

Moreover, developers who do this generally have very poor taste and use the most ugly shit available on the Internet. Some developers using computer generated graphics have the same problem, but in that case it's not all of them but just a large minority.
