They are never believable, but I keep playing them. One day. One day.

I think the slutty sister that gets caught up in problems that only the MC can solve is not done enough.

I'm surprised the OP didn't mention the Landlady / Roomate issue. I consider that a big no no.

This is one of those rare cases where I do enjoy a bit more of a slow burn into the persuasion of the act. Not something "realistic" per se, but something more believable. For certain fetishes, and this is one of them, they're best when fully cooked.

To a certain point i agree to the OP... sometimes you get into a role where you are the instant total superhero that just meets hot chicks and even they are the one who open the zipper of your throusers... Usually a very good hero storry begins with the development of the main character.. from the beginning shy and struggling.. and then learns more and more to get to the goal and THEN is a superhero - NOT FROM THE BEGINBNING of the story!

But it seems, that this attitude is also practiced in many nowadays non-erotic movies around Hollywood. No struggling police officers that had a divorce and got into alcoholism or into depth... and in the story they develop and are escaping from that shit.. get stronger and learn.. you get connected to the character in that story... no.. nowadays you see a PERFECT cop that had cancer, 3 divorces and was sitting in a wheelchair.. but from the beginning of the storyplot the can fly and change a solid rock into dust just with a punch of your fist... no tension just rushing.. on a flat storyline... to a climax that still is flat without tention.. when you do not cock the bow properly then the arrow wont shoot any further than your hands can reach...

Either it is about the action hero movies or in this case the erotic/sexual hero stories, for me it is important to get a connection to the main character... and to be reasonable it means to have a story that begins with our realasitic life expectations and then can develop into a fantasy... I don't mean the scenery like Star Wars... that can be the circumstances... i mean the human behavior, that we know, that besides the scenery evolves.

What I hate is when the characters get together but before they even have a proper romantic relationship it jumps to get "get mommy pregnant" or something

So incest games mostly follow these tropes and I'm bored of them:
1) MC is a handsome chap with a horsecock and girls throw themselves at him after some time.
2) The family is fatherless and the MC establishes himself as the man of the house so now every female member must fuck him.
3) There's a doting mother, one nice sister who loves the MC and a mean bitchy sister who's cold/hostile towards him but becomes his bitch later nonetheless.
4) The progress from conversation to teasing to full blown sex is too quick. Often there's no paying any heed to the taboo nature of the relationship.
5) too many love interests. The MC must fuck every female character in sight. Mom's best friend? Fucked. Best friend's mom? Fucked. Sister's friends? Fucked. Sexy nurse/Doctor? Fucked. Female cop? Fucked. Maid? Fucked. The girl at the coffee shop? Fucked. None shall be spared.
6) doll bodies: every girl/woman has a downright supermodel/pornstar body and face. The tits don't droop even when braless! The skin is perfect without any blemishes and what not. No imperfections of any kind.

Is it too much to ask for something new?
I mean.. this formula works, done well its always a win. The problem is when it gets too generic, I'd say if a game follows all of thoses points It is a bad game.

Having the women throw themselves at the MC is VASTLY preferable to blueballing (more than 4 updates without sex, and that doesn't count anything that ends in "job."

Problem is AVNs aren't known for pushing the envelope when it comes to good writing. There are exceptions, but they are rare. I agree these tropes are pretty tired.

Look for lesbian games, there are no jobs at all ^^

If it doesn't involve penetration of pussy or ass by the MC's dick (or a character's dick in a female MC game) I usually skip past.

I agree with most of your points too. There is definitely a formula that is being used over and over again.

Funny, its exactly the other way around for me. skip every dick and only the scenes without penetration are worth watching.

I'm sure someone else said it already but... what do you mean nowadays? This has been incest games since forever, you described the entire Man of the House game that has been developed years ago, and there were hundreds of games just like that.

Biggest difference is that devs usually go for the VN model instead of sandbox

Gradual corruption is hotter, but... I just don't have the time in the day to slog through/wait for the dev to create a long drawn out story.

Unless you want to be in the Game+ zone and so get far less exposure, some of the constraints are unavoidable. The incest can't be a family tradition for example. An underutilized path could be the corrupting influence of a third party with power, like a family therapist or an employer. I've seen that in a couple of games, but not many. That solves the problem of why it starts "out of the blue" when all the characters reach 18.

But honestly, who wants to invest the time in scripting? Like others have said, it's easier to go over well-traveled path instead of forging a new one.

You're not selling your point very well 😜

But that's also a reason why, except perhaps a quick look, I don't want to play a slow burn game from release. A slow burn leading to action is worth it, one leading to several months of waiting is a dud.

Games with actual game mechanics are ok but a lot of visual novels with obvious choices making this genre easy money for mediocre developers.
