Alright i can not figure out wtf is going on and I want to know if anyone else has had the issue.

I have Win11 Pro on my shop tower/x office tower. While playing a avn it will randomly fast forward and skip a bunch of screens and only stop if I catch it just right with the mouse or right click to the save screen. I am at a loss here and fed up with it. Normally I can roll back but sometimes I have had to load a autosave to return to a point before it started its shit.

Now my other tower is running Win10 Pro and does not do this and every funnier is when I log into the shop tower from the other tower it doesn't pull this fast forward crap. If anyone else is having this issue speak up and if someone knows why and or how to stop it please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the heads up, Maybe I shouldn't upgrade

I have 2 computers, one with windows 11 and one with windows 10 operating system. I need to know what game you are experiencing this in or if you are experiencing this in a game. I'll try it on my computer with windows 11. If it doesn't have the same problem, then you know you have a problem with your operating system.

Sticky keys + ctrl button? Maybe the "skip" button input is somehow always active? Not sure, man

Maybe you can set your game up via console commands to forbid skipping of any content and set up automode in its fastest speed as a workaround. Or try disabling keyboard input on your Win11 machine before you launch the game and while you play the game, and just use your mouse. Probably not the issue, but it can help narrow it down.

Bro, legit advice, delete Windos 11.
Never use a windows that is being updated. Specially the one made by modern Microsoft, their quality fell off a cliff past few years, similar to Boing planes falling off the sky.
Microsoft is now hiring non qualified people instead of good coders.

OMG I hate windows 11. My computer is windows 11 and it is the most buggy/glitchy computer
I've ever owned.

I find some ren'py games are inconsisted with whether ctrl / tab toggles skipping, or skips while held down. Have you tried putting more LEDs in your tower? That might fix it.

I don't have any issues like this personally. Try disconnecting any controllers or joysticks. I know some people have had issues with that before in regular games where it can show itself by making the camera turn constantly to one side.

Pretty much any renpy game.

First thing I thought of so I did removed my game controllers and have switch keyboard and mice multiple times and it still shows up.
As for those going on about Win11. Others than this issue I have no issues with it and it was already installed on the main drive when I got it from the old man that game me a bunch of pc's and parts.

I'm probably not gonna be any help. But I know on windows 8.1 some games would screw up and I would have to
do the following in order to play.

I would have to change graphics settings. Start the game while holding down the Shift key - select the 'Angle...'
option at the upper left (lower option) then Quit (lower left). Restart the game normally.

Would that have anything to do with your game?

Win8.... never touched it and they didnt have 3080ti or 3090ti's back then either.

Hmmm not enough Led's..... well shit now I wish I hadn't given away a matching set of 3 coolermaster fans and controller :( The win10 tower has 3 more fans than the win11 plus it has led cable covers and lcd displays... So you may be on to something....

Just an fyi for people who really don't like windows 11 but are concerned about not receiving security updates after 10 eol perhaps consider windows 10 ltsc(long term service channel)? It is an enterprise version of 10 and will continue to receive security updates until 2032. I actually prefer it, it only uses about %10 ram and half as many processes running as pro and home. If interested do a web search for microsoft activation scripts.

I'm really curious about how this could be happening. I've not had a problem with Win 11 pro and have been running it since 6mon after release. It could really be a variety of things. I am interested to see if you find a solution. I am happy to help you test theory's if you don't end up giving up and going for a Linux OS anyways.

Visual novels may skip on Windows 11 due to compatibility issues, driver problems, or even background processes interfering with the game. Troubleshooting steps include checking for driver updates, running the game in compatibility mode, disabling fullscreen optimizations, and potentially disabling background applications.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of potential causes and solutions:

1. Compatibility Issues:
  • Windows 11 is relatively new: Some games, especially those not specifically designed for Windows 11, may have compatibility issues.

  • Try compatibility mode: Right-click the game's executable, go to Properties, and try running it in compatibility mode for an older Windows version (like Windows 10).

  • Run as administrator: This can sometimes resolve compatibility issues.

Maybe try using different USB sockets for devices, or if using a dock try not using the dock. ?? Good luck hope you find the prob!
