Why aren't there any open-world 3D high-quality adult games? I know some quality games made by individuals, but why aren't more games like house party being developed?

I think open world is mostly a gimmick in visual novels and I don't think you gain enough by forcing 3d on them compared with the increase in developing cost.

I guess because of the workload.
A typical kn has images and maybe animations, vn add choices, good vn seperate routes, but all of them are still just images and maybe animations.
For an open world you need to create a world, means maps, meshes, navs, textures, etc. then you need people, animals, trees, buildings and a shitload of other stuff, everything with meshes, textures and for everything that moves animations.
Dunno if you played any common open world games from one of the big sudios, but they have whole teams and still manage to get clipping errors and glitches that let you fall from the map or end stuck in visible or hidden objects.
Okay, some engines and tools help to create open worlds, but they are pretty generic and demand money for better stuff, money a private dev mostly dont want to spend, especially since many adult fans only support games that provides them with fap material in the first 10 minutes...

It depends what you mean by open world 3d. I am guessing you mean freedom of movement like you would see in a fallout game for example and not a kinetic novel like mentioned above. If so the only one I can think of is Last Hope but you are trapped on a spaceship and you better have at least a decent gaming pc to be able to run it. I liked it but recommend using a guide to get familiar with what you are supposed to be doing.

I think it has something to do with marketing. I imagine its already pretty hard to make a successful 3d game - and even if u make a good one u need to have good marketing and timing of launch to make it big - and if we add porn into the mix - u limit who u can market ur product to and where - in a major way.

But it will come - im sure - but its a risk since anyone doing it would be first - and theres no alot of data to support the idea it would be successful - so hard to get investors.

So for now its mostly gonna be passionate small companies. There are some tho.

An example of one could be: Taste of seduction. Just google it. Its a 3d open world game with voices and everything. still in early development - but worth a try imo.

Yes, I played that game and really liked it. But what I was actually expecting is a free world like in the game "Monolith Bay." Even though that game had many bugs, it had a good story and gameplay. While the graphics were a bit lacking, I still enjoyed playing it.

Open worlds tend to be made by AAA industries, which already make slop games for the general audience. Don't think they're interested to try making adult ones.
