Just extract the files and use notepad to change the MC's name to what you want it to be. I do this all the time for characters that you can't name.

If anyone does this, make sure you know what you're doing, otherwise you might break the game, then have the developer unnecessarily chasing bugs that don't exist because you messed something up and broke the game yourself.

Do you guys play as "yourselves" when you play games? I always play games through the eyes of another character. Obviously, I influence them but considering the limitations given, it just seems a bit off to me when you try to play as yourselves.

Some games I change their name, some I don't, but it's not a big deal to me either way

if you want to change name but don't want to fiddle in the code, there is a renpy mod over at f95 that's called universal ren'py mod, by 0x52. Amongst other things it let's you change names of 'actors' in games (actors in the case being the names that say things), and also auto-replace words in general. I guess you might want to use both those functions to replace a name completely. Also, with the latter function it is possible to replace words that are used to tell ages, but of course you will replace all instances of those words, i.e. if you set it to replace all "eighteen" with "thirteen", it will also change "I won the eighteenth hole on the golf course" with "I won the thirteenth hole on the golf course"..

you hardly have to play as yourself to immerse into a story. Arguably, the lack of freedom of choices in situation is unimmersive.

yea, this is pretty much where i stand, more or less. That said, it's not the first i've heard of people changing names and being really keen on it.

I change to my name all the time when playing VNs. Even use my last name in VNs that allow changing of the family name. Just feels better for me to do that

If I can change it I do. If not oh well. Never use my own name however, I use a universal name for all of my gaming regardless of AVN or just normal RPGs...

From what I can gather (game is translated from russian to english), so they are probably in russia/ukraine, and have payment issues with SS/Patreon etc, but Boosty is fine, hence why several russian game developers use it for their subscriptions.

Hellster answered you, I don't care about content, I just want to get some financial support, though the game is free, people decide how they want to support )) I have fanbox page, but still didn't make subscription tier, I don't see the point of that because I can't get payments from there

You might try your own site and set it up to take Bitcoin donations. That's the easy way to give traditional payment processors that don't like loli or incest AVN's the middle finger (and partly why crypto was invented in the first place). Loli/incest AVN's that don't suck or are over in 30 mins are rare, and this one is one worth supporting.

Thanks for your advice but I wouldn't like to take such a risk with creating my website with content I have, my boosty will grow sometime, it's like subscribestar/patreon, I already have 12 paid subscribers))
