Many games that I download fail to unzip. Anyone know why? I usually try all links but sometimes they all fail.

This has literally never been an issue for me. What games are you trying to unzip? What device are you using? What program are you using to unzip the files with? How much space is free on your device.

So many questions

Hopefully some can answer this for you, but it definitely seems like an issue on your end, and nothing specific to the sites you're downloading from

Are you sure that you are downloading it completely. Sometimes i would mess up and not wait until it totally finished downloading the game and it would corrupt the file

Some of the reasons could be:
- It has not finished downloading.
- It was corrupted when it downloaded. (re-download it)
- Password is incorrect (if it requires a password)
- The file name has certain characters in it (rename the zip file and try again)

Happened a few times to me over the last few years.

One other problem might be your SSD, HD, whatever you use might be corrupt or dying.

I guess its even simpler.
Use 7zip or winrar since these are the common tools devs use to pack them.
Run a full virus scan, if something destroys the headers as soon as you try to open them, they cant work.
Check your drives and your RAM.

Some upacker like for example WinRar have trouble unpacking several packed formats, like the 7zip format .7z, despite showing it as extractable.
You should try another one like the mentioned 7-zip.

I can only speak of the way it is on my end:
When I try to open the archive via doubleclick to get to the folder inside, it only works up until a certain filesize, because the complete extraction runs inside the computers RAM.
When I tell the PC to extract to a tarket folder on the harddrive, it usually always works, since there is enough space free.
If the file is password protected, the extraction process asks for the password.

what in limewire's name are you downloading that you.... you do know they are not zippers right? You don't even need winrar or winzip or 7zip. Windows does it for you when you hit extract. You got demons or poltergeists or something if you can't extract a simple zip.

Echoing the people who are saying 7zip. Especially files with a password on them don't like unzipping with certain programs but 7zip is always going to open it for you.

Two things to check is your hard drive (use whatever tools your HD maker provides, such as Seagate has seatools) and your ram for errors (memtest)

I have found that 7zip will extract the game in cases where Windows will not

The only times this has happened to me is when the downloaded file has non-ASCII characters in the compressed filenames, for example in some Japanese games. But this is a problem of my Linux setup that I've never bothered to tackle. As the others said, it must be on your end: No space left on drive, corrupted download or drive, old decompressor version... Use the latest 7zip and retry everything.

i use 7zip and the only time something fails to unzip that i have fully downloaded from here was because of password issues

You have given way too little information for us to give you any specific help. Things we need to know:

What hardware and OS are you using? PC with Win? PC with Linux? Mac? Android? Iphone? An old Amiga 2000 with

What software are you using to unzip the zipped file?

What is the zipped files name?

Where did you download it from?

The way you ask your question is prety much the same as if a person would call a car mechanic and ask "What is wrong with my car, it won't start?" What do you think the car mechanic would answer?

No-one here is a mind reader. Please give details if you want a meaningful answer.
