It was a time an place thing, never knew it was rated at all.

I don't think I've ever seen it all the way through, but I do remember it being on in the house sometime within the last couple of years.

I think I have the DVD but it's been lost to time.

Oh yeah I know the movie and seen tons of gif and memes. Just never seen the actual movie. There's another big movie that surprises the hell out of people that I've never seen either.

Now Elf is one where I watched but wish I didn't. I really don't like that movie.

I'm not a Christmas movie person. Never have been. There is only 1 Christmas movie I truly enjoy and it's a nightmare before Christmas

It did but it lost tons of money, even for an indy-ish film.
Matthiacallus, if you hate it, you hate it. I'm not going to change your mind. Nor would I want you to.

I guess what I was trying to get across was that it seemed strange to have two terrific films as #2 & #3, and Arlington Road as #1.

But I do feel a heroic "double standard" in some people other than matthiacallus. (I've talked to the latter enough to know)
In Arlington Road, for example, there's a laundry list of "why the hero was stupid".
But in a standard movie, when I give MY laundry list of "why the villain was stupid"... my detractors often say I just don't understand movies.

Well, even if I'm not looking for the villain to win, I still get irritated at any character being an idiot.

Or worse, I get a puritanical "stories are to let people know what the right thing to do is."... BARF...

Fables and fairy tales, maybe.
But most movies are supposed to be entertainment.

AGAIN, this is not referring to matthiacallus.

But it does seem that a dum dum like me would be a better villain than 99% of the movie and literature villains.
And since I am a dum dum... it feels like "This is where you fall down." is the cue for villains to fail. (props if you know this without looking it up)
i.e. its forced and unnatural. And NO. I don't want villains to fail "better". I want them to win.

Thank the Dark Lord for Games, both video and pen and paper, where I can be a villain and win.
Oh, and fuck "Satanic Panic" for good measure.

Anyhow, thanks for tolerating my general rant, matthiacallus. I agree. I AM an contrarian... especially when it comes to stories, games and porn.

Well, you're allowed to be! You can like what you want to like, I won't dislike you for your movie preferences.
However, I think there are better movies than Arlington Road.
What about Fallen? (Denzel Washington stars) If you haven't seen it, you need to put that on the list right now.
Frailty? Matthew Mcconaughey, another great movie. Not necessarily a 'villain' persay, but if you haven't seen it, great movie.

Here in Brazil, depending on what you buy, more than half of the price is taxes.
When you import something you have to pay 90% of the paid price (shipping included, which is expensive) as fees, and sometimes if they think the price is too low, they will come up with another price as calculate the values on this new price instead!

I do think Napoleon Dynamite is a bit overrated, as well. I did enjoy it, but when it came out everyone thought it was the funniest shit ever. It got a few laughs out of me, because it was just a quirky movie that didn't really take itself too seriously. I'm one of those people that says something like Hot Rod is far better.

This dude also did Gentlemen Broncos and Nacho Libre, with NL also being one of those ones people would randomly quote, and people expected you to get it. I didn't really like either of those films.

All of those are great movies. Especially Scrooged. Same with Christmas vacation. But they are movies that I'm not going to seek out and watch. If I see they are on I may watch it. But Nightmare if it's on I'm watching or I can just put in the DVD lol

That has got to be the most needlessly convoluted banking system -real or imaginary!
I guess I can understand the "carrot" part of compelling people to traffic the site daily.
I can't make sense of penalizing someone for making multiple deposits, however.
I just wish I hadn't wasted five months worth of deposits!​

Auto-adding the interest was glitching out. They couldn't fix it.

So, (AS WOULD I), they put it in the FUCK IT category and asked us to spend 15 seconds a day manually doing the clicks.
