discussion Thoughts on Pineapple on Pizza?

Not a fan of pineapple, especially pineapple flavored candies and such. I have a few exceptions, if it's in a fruit cocktail with minimal pineapple, a pineapple upside-down down, and pineapple juice.

So, pineapple on a Pizza is a big no for me, but I know a bunch of people that swear by it. I'd rather have pepperoni, mushrooms, sausage, and some sort of pepper, either bell pepper or jalapeño.

Only botanically, not culinarily.

My stance on people's preference for pizza toppings is the same as my stance for people's preferences for sexual partners: Unless I'm getting a slice of the pie, I don't care.
That said, I do think that pineapple goes well with some other pizza toppings.

There are selections of traditional pizzas, some of them ain’t my gig… not a fan of anchovies for example…

Then there are the gourmet type pizzas with exotic topics ( eg satay , Greek lamb) all good. I love blue cheese on my pizza.

But pineapple? HARD FUCK NO!

My palate rejects the fusion of savory and sweet. When I savor cheese and tomato paste, sweetness is the last thing I desire, and of course, I hate pineapple-tenderized steak as well.

It wouldn't be my first choice but if I was at a party and they had a dozen different types of pizza I would take a slice.
But it's not as bad as a lot of people think.

It's definitely not my first choice nor on my top 10, but if someone brings one, I'd probably eat 1 or 2 slices without complaining, hunger can be a bitch for sure.

Many pizza sauces have sugar in them already to cut the acidity of the tomato. So the pineapple can totally overwhelm it. But I find pineapple already goes well with pork, and canadian bacon is also usually on pizza.

I don't think I've ever had pineapple tenderized steak. That doesn't sound very appealing.
