Games straight to point or games you have to grind?

Good grind. Not the one where you have to repeat same stupid actions for thousands of time to get content.
The most games I don`t like are the one where you have "multiple" paths which basically depends on one ore two choice and you have to replay the whole game (with no/minor changes) several time to get the content.

For me, it depends on how much time I have and willing to spend on games. Grind games are really good if I can get myself immersed in the story and all of the mechanics. However, if the grind goes on for too long and getting rewarded too long then I would rather have a straight to the point game. Games that are straight to the point though can seen to make everything short and I just lose interest too fast because I have no idea what's going on.

Hey,
what type of games do you prefer?
I can't really make up my mind about that topic.
Sometimes I like when you don't have to do anything at all to get to the lewd scenes in games and other times I like when you have to work for your pleasure. It feels more satisfying then for me.
Two of my favorite games are OSiL and Bernd and the mystery from Unteraltenbach.
OSiL is really straight forward and a pleasure to play but for Bernd to get the girls he likes you have to work hard and fight through numerous Game Over screens if you messed it up.
But if you finally hook up with the girl, the excitement is even bigger for me.
So, a quick fap or pleasent anticipation? What do you think?
have to agree with you here had the same situation when i play bernd and the mystery of unteralterbach

It's a difficult question, if I have little free time I would choose those games that get straight to the point because they tend to be short games, although sometimes if the characters are good and the theme of the game really catches your attention you can be left wanting more, and on the other hand, those games in which you have to put in more effort sometimes have so many options that it's hard to know if you're choosing the right path.

Unless they can make a good gameplay in an adult game which I never seen one then just stay making visual novel. Grind is just excuse to for the lack of content. Only time I will ever play and grind a porn game is if they can at least make somewhat near baldurs gate gameplay I mean at least the first baldurs gate.

In my game you have a girlfriend already and you're banging you sister right from the start. It's the other girls in the game you have to work for.

Straight to the point>partial grind>grindcore

Depending on the story I don't mind the grind if there is a decent pay off in the end. Depending on the day somedays after a long retail shift I want something that's straight to the point to release the tension of the day. But when I have the time and there's a delicious story, I'll grind it out just to savor the sweet naughty goodness.

Just give me a good story and ill do some work but most sandbox/grind games feel like a time waste.

It really depends on the kind of game I am playing and why I am playing it.
I do like when they 'get to the point' fairly early, and then you build on maintaining that state.
Build-up is very important, but I really hate it when I feel like I am being baited or that things are being artificially stalled for no reason because then it stops being suspenseful and instead becomes a chore.

Doesnt matter to me, it all depends on how the dev does it, grind with fun mini games can add to the experience but it can also hinder it. In my opinion devs should focus on story and sex scenes first and mini games later.

Grind can be OK the first time I play through, but if I'm replaying, I hate grind. I'll usually cheat to get past it after the first time.

If a game becomes a grind I delete it. It is one reason I avoid Sandbox games. I want a good story with a natural progression. Having to do the same thing over and over just to progress is stupid.

I think I prefer some grind with choices. Games like a family venture are super hot and the payoffs so far are very satisfying. And I'm not even that far into it. I'd say I prefer all that repetition with hot scenes to something like my new memories, which is thousands of lines of dialog before getting to anything all that good. May or may not finish that one. But I'm also happy with those that give you the goods without having to do much. So my answer is pretty much whatever!

I suppose both have their own appeal. I prefer something with a little grind as long as it's not repetitive (building up stats forever to unlock progress). Things that I find annoying are sandbox games where the mechanics never quite work or are too finicky and you get stuck and unable to progress without asking others for help with saves, etc.
The problem with longer more grindy games, which I think most of us would agree with, is when a developer loses interest or has real life issues that cause abandonment of a game that you've spent forever getting involved with. That and the trolls who milk their subscribers and never deliver. I also think some creators struggle through not having a preconceived idea of where the story is going often ending up with adding too many peripheral characters to keep things going.
My biggest issue with most games is that too many creators try to include too many kinks in a single game. Whilst this is an attempt to broaden appeal, it quite often has the opposite effect. It can often feel like having a 9-course meal with several of your favourite dishes but knowing that at some stage the turd surprise is coming (literally in a few games).

At that point they should just turn game into a visual novel.
