The original intent has always been sexist, all the way back to the 80s, 90s but it wasn't *as* prevalent as it was in later years. 4chan (a particular sub forum, really) made the phrase "explode" in the internet consciousness and the *rule* that came of it was "Tits or gtfo".
The "logic" behind the phrase was the internet is a level playing field because it is anonymous and your gender (and any "advantages" to garnering attention) or *your tits* bear no relevance to any discussion. Thus, initiating or going into a discussion by revealing your status as female was regarded as an attempt to *reclaim* your advantages from irl to get people to pay attention to you and conceding that your value to the discussion could be reduced to you having tits.

I haven't frequented 4chan in years, but I think the phrase has mostly fallen from common use. Possibly because it's mostly filled with trap threads and rage bait. It's still fun to use as a meme, it very much dates you as an internet user.

To think women have an advantage in society just because they have tits (and the same idea that "they sleep their way to the top") are sexist from the start. I mean all data available show women gain less money than men and that men still own most positions of power in politic and economy. I like internet a lot, but it too often work as a exclusive boy club, where women are only tolerate at best.

Yeah, like I said.... The phrase/meme and the "logic" behind it has always been sexist. It's just that, like many things in the world, people have come to use it as simple fun without much regard for its origins. And that's fine.
