this canbe the same in any language. I learned very basic of Russian and had exactly same problem to you learning Japanese, but I cant even have conversation properly so it is just how it is, especially when not live in that country. It take a long time and to be honest, if I translate Japanese poems and old words to English they have no real meaning and some seem useless because of the lack of how it is translate. Most language have things like this. For example, Spanish also have many grammar use that English don't, so it is another thing that make this language hard for foreigners, like use of motion ect... Just a concept English language don't have in the same way bt I can understand some aspect if I learn the language but to tell truth it take a lot of work that I don't really feel will benefit me here in Japan. asia language and grammar key is different to Latino based and so on.For me, it's not only a grammar problem, a western speaker needs to change completely the way to think to be able to understand and speak Japanese properly. The use of a topic instead of a subject, changes everything. That's why most of the learning text books are not a good source to enter in the real Japanese, they have a tendency to imitate subject oriented sentences. I can read text books for foreigners and understand almost everything, but if I pick, for example, a Light Novel, I have a really hard time to understand almost every single sentence. So far I'm just able to understand without the help of a translator, books for babies. Maybe I need to try books intended for early teenagers (12 yo or so). But I don't know how to identify such books. If you can help me providing some titles I will appreciate it, I already have an account on honto.jp
Regarding Japanese people learning Romance Languages (Latin Languages like Italian, Spanish, French, etc), in my personal experience you will find a bit of everything, from the Japanese person who speak native level after a few years living in the country to the ones who lived 20 years there and still are unable to speak well.
lol yeah, many are respectful... but... Im not so much at times. Ok, so, my point is I respect and be nice to everyone who is decent but if someone is horrible I will not remain quiet. No need to shout or be loud but a firm statement to let them know will work, but usually you are rite, many Japanese are nice but not everyone lol. Most Japanese rather not fight and argument and just walk away if other person is rude. And that's one of the things I appreciate the most of Japanese people! I have already visited Japan and, in fact, you people are like the most respectful people I ever meet. Western people is educated in the individualism, the Ego has a lot of importance here, but I feel Japanese people (I don't know other eastern countries, so I can't about them) are educated in the collective first. The language is a perfect mirror of that, in English for example you need to put in the sentence the Ego, the "I" pronoun, but in Japanese you do the opposite, you avoid as much as possible the use of "Watashi/Boku/Ore/etc". Because the Ego doesn't matter. At least that's my perfection of how it works XD
To put it in an example.
I think I will go to the school tomorrow. --> There is 2 times the word "I"!!
Even in Italian or Spanish is almost the same (just to use other languages that I can speak), but instead to put the "I" they will use the verb form "Penso che domani andrò a scuola"//"Pienso que mañana iré a la escuela". It's the subject who grammatically points to the "I".
But in Japanese:
明日、学校に行こうと思う。
There is no grammar that indicates the "I" is the one who is doing the action, but a speaker convention that tells that, with these verbs and kind of structure, mostly it's the first person who is implied to be thinking and acting.
Yeah, Japanese structure is very different. The word I is often not use, but depend. Plus Kanji is a symbol that mean many different things. I am not grammar expert and my writing is not so good but like I say, it is different structure and I can't explain because it is complicate and long discussion. Too long lol
Yes, you are rite. it is true and some people before tried to take my picture because how i wear my clothes and I told them to stop and said it is not polite to do this in Japan. There are many many rule of social in Japan and sometimes it is too strict and this is also sometime hard for foreigner to understand and in this case it is not foreigner who is wrong but the culture and way of Japanese life that is weird to many. The same thing can be if I visit other countries and don't understand the social rules. As a Japanese woman, the thought of insect sex should give you some sorts of feelings, I would think.Like, mild disgust, or disgust. or extreme disgust.I guess that's the same for every country, when the visitors not only don't respect the local traditions, but don't care about create a big mess.
Honestly, I been in loli/anime places a lot on and off, in the years and learned about the weird and strange fetish many people share. I don't like much of the things some guys like here. In fact, some things I hate a lot, but I learned if I hate it then don't watch it. The insect sex stuff is just stupid joke that yeah, its gross but actually it is ridiculous and make me laugh. I been round west guys and also dirty Japanese dudes a lot online and kinda just used to it. Only people who are interest in the loli/shota/zootopia style art will be interest in these things and mostly it is just fun goof things, but 99% of Japanese really would hate this kind of thing and they stay away. I just have a weird crazy mind and don't take it seriously lol. I like a couple weird fetish also, so, I am no better lol. Just more vanilla in taste. People who see what I make in my art can know easy.Or.. maybe centipede eggs?
There is no way in this earth I will be interest in insect or animal or bird sex. No thanks... Just too gross for words haha.
well.. I seen this park ranger pick up dog poop with a vacuum cleaner before so not surprise about backpack... In fact he was wear a pooper pack especially for this... Although I almost never seen any dog poop any place in public. I suspect they will use a special comb to brush the grass at some point. I'm kidding a bit but seriously, these dudes keep Japan looking so clean lol. I did see pooper vacume in the park. it was weird to see but clever idea. The poop-blender backpack is inevitable....
yeah, it is the Japanese format that is bit weird. Plus most dont understand English and don't or maybe too lazy to have an English version. There are ton of VN in "only Japanese" and this make it very hard for foriegner to play. Plus, yes, the format can be problem.I think It'd be japanese ones, but I never played much because of the language barrier. The universal language for the Ren'Py game here are english, even if the dev speaks russian, spanish or whatever, there'll always be a english version. As for the japanese ones, it's usually japanese only. Some of them don't even let you run them normaly, only with the computer is set to Japan or something like that...
I myself prefer the anime style, and japanese AVNs has a lot more fetishes than what we find here. I go to VNDB and see many games with tags that I like that I won't play.
I didn't play much Illusion. I remember play Rapelay just because of the controversy, Sexy Beach, SchoolMate , @Home Mate, Jinkou Gakuen, and some Jinkou Shoujo, don't remember which one. I also their most popular ones nowadays played Honey Select and Koikatsu. I liked their games but when I played them it's was running them because of the unnoficial english patches and such. Hahaha
Really sad that they closed down. They were pioneers on non-VN porn games, and they were really good on that.
I also like schools and such, as I always liked some slice of life settings. I don't need a complex plot, just some nice dialogue and hot scenes.
Sadly the future for loli isn't very bright. More and more companies keeps banning it. I'm afraid of the best ones will always be what we already have...
Yeah, the Japanese ones have more freedom because they just make anything and it is considered as not a problem to create extreme sex or fetish from weird origins. The people who like it will be the ones who buy/play but they are baned in lot of countries so I dont know how you guys can get to watch them.
Illusion is now RIP. They owners closed it, changed the name and now only create adult porn games, which is a sad reality.
Honey select was one of Illusions greatest games but sadly there are no more created and it is no longer supported, so, eventually it will just become part of history. I don't really like Koikastu so much. its ok but bit too much like anime in a way and not my style.
Yeah, everyone was sad about Illusion but I feel they had pressure to change their module and just abandon. I actually don't know why they did this but they are no more.
Yes, all the loli game and art places are certainly threatened with closure or pressured to go adult. It is a huge purge and actually senceless to me but this is life and this why i have Daz studio, virtamate and now just today I set up my AI program. I should say I am still learning, but I wont stop make my stuff and I don't care about the world, so i can always make whatever and one day want to make a harem of my lolis and spam post all these nazi sites and governments with thousands of images every day haha.. Im kidding but the thought is nice idea. Just to piss them off haha.
