The law does make sense, considering how these programs work. They're not really creating new things, they're more copy/pasting parts of existing images hundreds of times and outputting a very complex collage. So if the sample set has images of real underage people, the output contains at the very least pieces of images of underage people, even if it's heavily modified.

if you know AI, you know it’s not that simple. I’m tired of hearing, "But AI doesn’t create anything, it just steals art or photos", everything is way more complex than just copying and pasting, you don’t need to train AI on dogs to create cats. The cats might not be perfect, but they can be good enough for our standards, the Ai just needs to understand basic of biology books to give you results close to that, if you train them on humans, you can get better humans, if you train them on petite 100% legal girls from public posts on reddit? well, you got my point.
