Do folks like to check out abandoned games?

I check not only abandoned games, but also completed ones in the hope of a sequel from the same author.
Completed are always good. When it comes to good ones, there are a whole lot more active or abandoned than complete.

Playing abandoned game makes me wish for more, so I tend to avoid them.

I don't like it. Every time I see a good game abandoned by its author, I feel regretful

I feel sad when I see the abandoned tag on a game that I like.
Usually I play them for a last time and delete them afterwards.

Yes, just to see what the game has to offer, learn from it and then remove it.
Abandoned games will never be within my saved games, it is such a disrespect by the developer to simply abandon something after years of development.
That is why I always recommend to never pay for unfinished content.

There are a lot of great abandoned games. It's sad that most of them will not be updated

Can you please name the gems? I just skip the abandoned tag.
Sorry, I don't keep track, and it's pretty often a matter of taste, too. The only one I can name off the top of my head is Ecchi Sensei. I usually just search by tags that I like, see what update it ended on, scan through the changelog to get a feel for what's in it, and maybe to a quick search of keywords in the thread or peek at reviews if it looks like it might be iffy.

Yea I do. The problem is that so many games have a great start, with nice graphs and nice plot. so many abandon games didnt even reach "the stale". Then those game have more interesting content that some other games that only have minor advances but are "not abandon" because the dev keeps putting 2 screensavers DLCs every 6 months.

Also, I keep the naive illusion that some day those games got finished by someone. Im a dreamer

Depends on the amount of content.

I avoid them. I want to spare myself the pain of seeing story being stopped mid through and then having a realization it will never be finished.

They really have to look appealing or offer something that is hard to find. I just hate getting into something only to be left hanging...

I've tried to play games that are abandoned but I always end up quitting because I know there's no ending.

The good ones I will go back to and check on or replay Because I had liked what they had done so far

I saved some old abandoned games since they were very good but I don't check them regularly in the games list.

Only if they have enough content to make it worth playing.

I have (knowingly) tried a few abandoned games, although I can't specifically remember which. The games were quite far along and had perfect match in content for what I was looking for. I found them through recommendation threads though, not by filtering with the latest updates tool.

For stories, I do not cause I don't enjoy cliffhangers, would be frustrating.
For sex scenes, if the previews look good, I will check it out, definitely.
