For me I dont think gallery or replay screens are as common as they should be. They are fairly common but I think they should be standard in these games and make it so that there is a need for having a bunch of different saves before scenes.

I play games to play games, not to view pictures. Thats also the reason why i dont count KN as games, these are picture books.

I agree about the gallery/replay part, I know I save before every scene out of habit because most games don't. beyond that, not abandoning the game halfway through maybe?

This is a special one, but the option to turn off "thoughts" . i get tired of so many vns because they have excessive and annoying "inner monologues" from the mc. If it was the norm that u could turn them off then it would force developers to live by the mantra of "show dont tell" which i think would make for better stories overall. Its too often just a lazy way of telling a story - having mc explain everything to himself that should already be obvious to him. Also inner monologues are so often conflicting with what u as the real life player actually thinks or want to think. Maybe u dont find that secretary super hot - or maybe u dont wanna fuck ur family 5 seconds after u meet them . IF u want to do something then surely ur actions can reflect that . I get it - for some games it will be needed once in awhile - but in most games its not since ur getting control of the mc and ur thoughts are therefor ur thoughts - meaning the real life players thoughts.

Some "god mode" where you can do all routes at the same time, for example going on two dates that are supposed to be at the same time, or two variants of the same event regardless of the active flag.
I already do something similar by editing game scrips, as to view all scenes within the same playthough. You could have a "canon" route, alongside some "what if" scenarios or something like that.

Also Ren'Py QoL features regardless of engine used.
Skip, rollback, infinite saves, ease of modding and such.
