My top preference is redheads, but it really depends on the LI. If she's a light skinned girl with freckles, redhead; if she's Asian, jet black; long, leggy, athletic and tanned - true blond. The mousy girl next door with with glasses, or maybe a little bit of a tomboy? Brown hair fits that well.

it adds a layer to a character by showing not telling. If I see a blonde girl with dark eyebrows it does the same. Helps kick off the imagination
