I get, it's somewhat utopian to picture acceptance like that. But at the same time it takes the thrill out of the equation and what is any form of sexual desire worth without any level of excitement?

It's a lot more effort to actually take all LIs and their personalities into account, and would require a certain level of story/background/psyche on each character to make sense, which is not only a lot more challenging to write, but also more difficult to market it seems, when you consider all the games that are seemingly made to click from sex scene to sex scene with barely any actual content in between to make you even care about those scenes in the first place.
Especially when all LIs add up to is nothing more than some stereotypel sex-persona, run of the mill, shallow as a shower.

I believe it's the same difference, at its root, that makes someone appreciate implicit erotica more than explicit porn. Of course not to the degree of enjoying a sexless blue-balling fest of a game, but in terms of building tension as a necessity to even feel anything, and feeling something to even care about a character, and caring about a character to even perceive them as desireable, etc.
It builds up and makes all the intensity. That's what makes VNs exciting compared to porn, which is entirely boring to me.

Without that emotional weight behind a scene you might as well just skip 30 seconds into a Redtube video. Perfect example with the action movie analogy. It can be as effectful as anything, but if it doesn't matter, who cares? Maybe it works for some people to replace emotional/psychological investment with adrenaline or a quick dopamine rush, but then again, I don't get those from that either.

Another example of something I'm not at all into irl or in games, but that managed to work just through writing and presentation alone was the first LI in Whoremonger NTE, Jules or Julie or something like that.
