Overview:
This is still in testing. May or may not work with some Ren'Py games.
PLEASE read these details as it's really important to know this.

This add-on provide a measure to prevent malware from opening links from the Ren'Py game. It does not mean it'll be successful at every turn.
The Malware is randomly put in place using Python to initiate these links within a time frame. Can be 10 minutes, can be 30 minutes.​

What this add-on will do, it will remove the Bin folder that the malware creates to add its code to open links that downloads these malware. This may change at any time. For extra protection, turn off your internet. The Malware code relies on that.

This add-on has been tested on 10 different games. All work so far. But as usual, there MIGHT be some that like to be a rotten egg
Unfortunately, we couldn't make it work with RenPy 8.2 for now (works with 7.4 - 8.1)
For legal reasons... we are not responsible for ANY future circumstances, unseen or otherwise. This is a volunteer project to help ensure the safety of our players.

Maybe it would be possible for someone to post in here a list of the Games/VNs that have been successfully tested and update this list as available?

It was tested on a few games. HOWEVER, these games have already been cleaned and no malware is present anymore... this mod/script is not a "just put in and never worry about malwares again", it's a stop gab in the off chances it does have Malwares. This should help protect you but you SHOULD still remove infected games when you realize it and wait for a clean download instead. But please report those links so we'd know it's infected and we can replace them with clean links

I got hit by that recent first wave of malware attacks. Thankfully I caught it immediately and was able to fix things without too much trouble, but it's nice to have something like this for the future.

Sorry guys, we had some script conflicts while trying to adapt to old versions of RenPy, and those conflicts make the script useless in some games, that's why we deleted the links for now, we'll still leave that "fix" available after I run some more tests, but we're focused on a better approach which could prevent other types of malware too, we're still double-checking files and refusing some leaks from unknown sources before tests so you can have a safe place here to find your games.

Alles gut, we gave up trying to make it work with all RenPy versions for now, we will be focus in creating a new script which would work way better against other types of malware too

this is first ive seen of any of it, can someone tell me where i can get info on what the malware is, how to know if a game has it, where to look in games to check for it, where is the malware coming from, sites, games etc that it has been verified in, etc etc.

we need INFO big time

you said the malware creates a bin file? where does it create that bin file ? (folder location) does it delete itself after downloading the malware? etc etc! MORE INFO PLS

this version works for that malware and RenPy version, unfortunately, I still have to finish the other 4 scripts (from uploaders tools to mod tools), so my "improved" version will have to wait a little, but if we receive another report about a malware, I swear to god I'll work non-stop on that

That takes the concern away from a lot of people. Still i think lots are unaware.
Maybe make a banner of this tread + the infected games list on the main page.
