I recently came across a system called over on humble bundle. It has a a visual novel kit and I was curious if anyone had ever tried it? It is a windows platform software though, and I know a lot of game devs prefer renpy because it is multiplatform.

So that said:

-- Have you used/tried it?
-- Is it easier or harder than renpy?
-- If you used the 101 kit, did you stop? If so why?

I don't know of too many other platforms for making visual novels out there beyond renpy and the makers on steam. Mostly just curious if this is even worth the effort or if I'd be better off continuing to fiddle with renpy?

There are a couple AVN 'makers' out there. I've seen one or two on Steam.

I'd say stick with Ren'py. I've never tried a cookie-cutter AVN maker, but I can imagine it would be relatively easy to use at the beginning, but the more complex you want to get, the more it will bog you down and not allow you do to certain things. These helper programs are out there for pretty much any creative endeavor. They're good to learn on, but not to try and master.

Ren'py is much more versatile, is still easy to learn (for the most part), and most importantly - people recognize it, prefer it, and know how to use it. I'd strongly suggest keeping with Ren'py.
