So it's the sequel to the guardian? Guess I will know to avoid the game. The guardian was legitimately the first WEG I finished angry, not going to bother with anything related to it.

I'll give it a shot once this game gets a few chapters in. I liked TG but I also found the ending to be a bit lacking. I understand if Seth's been scared a bit by what happened to Westy but I hope this game isn't just TG but all the girls are older now.

TLG was released with at least 3 updates in it. its why it took so long for it to be released.
The ending of TG was done in a reason that had nothing to do with Westy

I think all of the Ausi drama had an impact on TG even if it didn't directly end it. I'll give this one a shot either way, thanks for letting me know that its not like most of the games out there that are barely functional in their first release.

Youre right on that A LOT of games devs were affected by the westy situation. it sent a HUGE ripple through the community. Shouldnt have. but it did.
And yeah, the ending had nothing to do with the Aussies. Seath wanted it to "end" that way.. big cliff hanger to ramp up TLG

I think Westy Is either going to be made an example of or a martyr to everyone in this community. I can respect wanting to set up a cliff hanger but in my opinion it feels wrong for the story he was telling. I always like Seth Black's games but if anything I'd want to see its not a game immediately following the last with a big time gap. I could see returning to the guardian story later but it doesn't make as much sense to me to end TG where it was at just to start all over without at least another unrelated game in the middle. I'll be first to admit I don't know the whole story and why things happened the way that they did and I probably shouldn't be judgey. The problem is no one would care and there wouldn't need to be a shit talk thread if people didn't LOVE the original 'The Guardian' game I hope Seth gets that when he sees threads like like this. I was considering @-ing him but thought its probably better not to.

I edited my post with more positivity and re downloaded the final TG again. the delisting then hey we're back and next release is the final one probbably make things worse in my mind then what it actually was, I haven't started tlg yet but If you're hinting what i think you are I like where this is heading.

Its a HUGE thing when you finally realize whats going on haha.

Same with me. I don't like Seath's approach at building up the plot. He clearly doesn't plan the plot in advance and believes that the more he surprises the player with all sorts of unexpected twists, the better. As a result, all his games are very messy regarding the plot. On the other hand, he is very good at writing the characters. Some of his characters are among my favourite in all AVNs.
So, in short, I'm very pissed off with how he handles the story, but at the same time have a very warm feeling for the chars.
