You are correct in your assessment on my intent, and your insight does merit response. The idea that there is something meaningful behind those "choices that aren't choices" does have a place, although I'm not convinced there is a single porn VN/Game that has that done...at least not in any meaningful way.
Fate (aka Fate/Stay Night) is an AVN actually and does the whole 'episodic through play through' where those hidden branches break out into completely different narrative story lines.
There was another one that the name escapes me and also pulled it off rather well. Was a spin off of a popular Japanese AVN with the typical high school setting with harem of busty ladies where the premise was the male MC wakes up and he's no longer in modern Japan, but in a dystopian future with scifi mechs and all the female characters are members of his squad fighting giant aliens. Starts out up beat with him using otaku knowledge to improve mechs and piloting tactics with stuff he sees in anime but then takes a complete 180 degree turn into nightmare fuel when the aliens attack. I mean complete gore and panic. The first play through is just a rail road to a bad end where you get choices with only 1 option and have to watch everything around you fall to pieces. However, if you start a new game more and more choices unlock.
Example:
1st play through you hear an alarm in the distance
Option: That's the alarm, do you think it's a drill?
The male character turns to look and when his girl friend doesn't answer he turns back to see her head being severed at the jaw line as alien mandibles rip her apart.
2nd play through you hear the alarm in the distance
Option 1: That's the alarm, do you think it's a drill?
Option 2: Wait! We're under attack!
This gives the male character the chance to grab his girl friend and run, but she still gets cut down as she hesitates at his actions.
This goes through iterations as more choices get unlocked as he tries to save the people around him. Shedding off his panic to more calculated actions as he starts brute forcing the best choice. Like grabbing a pipe which confuses people as something random, but using it to wedge a door shut because in a past run the door jammed and someone was dragged to their death through the opening as they tried to hold off the aliens.
Very much like movie Edge of Tomorrow.
Of course it's also an AVN with the end goal of sleeping with those female characters, but you have to earn it by brute forcing a way for them to survive.
