I support several developers but am interested in supporting more. Currently I'm supporting Dumb Koala, Blackheart Games, Lain, and Ketzal. I'm saving so much from not going buying current movies or games. I can support 2 or 3 more developers.

Im currently a college neet so I cant really help, however how much does a game dev need? The average salary in my country is like 700 dollars so I might help them, also does this transaction will be recorded in your bank account? I dont think its illegal to support pornographic material throug patreon but the fetishs that I Like might be illegal

I support through Subscribestar. It shows as Subscribestar purchase on your bank statement. From what I see you can support with a lower tier and some are only a few dollars.

When I get a more stable job I want to help the developers of Desert Stalker and Hot Sand of Antarctica. Maybe more, but I really like the work of these two.

I really and I mean REALLY dislike the subscribing supporting type of deal that's prevelant for these type of games.
I'd much rather wait for a game to be actually finished (and provides me withi a good amount of content), and then making a 1-off purchase. (for a reasonable price ofc.. some of them show up on steam for 30$ and the game being no where near finished either - like.. ye.. no way buddy. :)

Too many cases where the progress / development of the game/story is just too slow, and it feels like you're being scammed by being a constant supporter.

I understand the feeling of thinking you're being scammed, but developing these games takes time and most people aren't willing to spend more than a year of their life working on a project without earning anything. At least there are ways to access this content for free and I think feedback during development helps the final product to be better.

I do like supporting monthly. When the game gets finished it feels like it was because of mine and others who supported the game to the end.

Ketzal is an amazing developer. Active communication and consistent updates. The game is also amazing.

I support Lain even though their game just started. I trust this dev after seeing their previous work with other developers.

Well since no one else is posting it looks like Desert Stalker is the winner.

I really wish there was a steam like early access system for games. I don't mind tipping a guy 5$ after I enjoyed a game but patron style support encourages games that go on forever and less quality in favor of updating over and over with little to no content.

Monthly payments make sense for monthly updates then it becomes every 2 months then 3 then I no longer pay.

If there weren't so many developers that just quit with no warning ...

I like that steam has some of these games. Way more open to buy finished games. But all my favorite content (the reason for all my posts right now) aren't there.

I have previously supported Naughty Roads because i really liked the VN Light of my life.

I try and support creators where i am really looking forward to the next realease but i am not going to support creators like Dr PinkCake even though i like Being a Dik just because the wait time is too long.
Though i can do it for a month just to playt it a bit earlier whenever it does releases.

Right now, the only developer I subscribe to is the one making Erokin. Yeah, it's sexy and all, but I genuinely love the style and look of the world and characters.
