Overview:
Christmas Eve is the story of a single father (MC) and his stepdaughter, Evelynne who are on a road trip just before Christmas. They end up making an unscheduled stop during a snowstorm and stay in a cabin for a few days. Romance blooms as the dad not only struggles with the changes in the relationship between him and his stepdaughter, but also finally starts to come to terms with his late wife's passing.

- Today I’m releasing Christmas Eve 2.0. I’ve been slowly plugging away at this over the past few months in my free time. While I didn’t change much of the essence of the story or the game itself, I did do a lot of work to fine tune things a bit. While the changes aren’t mind-blowing, I think they significantly improve the overall game quality. In short, you won’t be missing much story-wise if you decide not to download and play it again.
- The first and most obvious change is to the images. They are now de-noised (for the most part). This may be more obvious to those of you on a desktop or laptop, but I think the change is striking. I also converted the entire image library to .webp so it takes up a lot less space.
- The next change is to the script. I did make a LOT of corrections. I fixed a bunch of grammatical errors as well as all of the switches in perspective from 3rd person to 1st and back again. I also made some changes to the story. I added a few continuity corrections between CE and NYD. I also threw in a few subtle hints and foreshadowing elements to help tie the two stories together even more. I also made some stylistic changes to some parts just to make the wording flow a little more smoothly.
- Finally, I reworked the UI a bit and added a gallery. The gallery images unlock as you play through the game. Oh, and by the way, before you ask:
- OLD SAVES WILL NOT WORK WITH THIS VERSION!!!
- …and neither will the mods for v1.0, or at least I don’t think so.
- Overall, I think this is a much more polished version and it will be the canon that I base my further development from. However, you will still be able to get v1.0 on my Patreon and Subscribestar pages. I know a bunch of you have modded that version and enjoy it that way.
- Things I did not do:
- Change relationship statuses (as they are integral to the story)
- Redo the “animations” into “real” animations (although I did smooth out what was there a little)
- Anyway, I hope you enjoy what I’ve done. I continue to be surprised by how much people like this story. I mean, I like this story, but I’m more than a little biased.
