This is a thread to opine about the actual projects that are out there. The games, novels, and other various forms of Adult Entertainment. Even the process of making them! Complain, Congratulate, and, if you got in you, Constructively Critique.
The Adult Entertainment space has never been bigger, and more democratized than it is today. And I know we all have A LOT of opinions about it all. I want to read yours.
For me tags don't really bother me all that much. There are a ton of tags that I don't like that I'm sure at least some people love. Gay Men, Urine, Scat, Vore, Sexual Gore, and yes devil in three letters, NTR. I'm just not the audience for those tags, and that's fine. I would avoid a game that is mainly about any of those tags, but if it just shows up once, is optional, or if it's a fail-state I can live with it it. I'm fine with devs casting a wide net and trying to get/keep some niche interest appreciation.
More than specific tags, the writing will cause me to close out and delete more than anything. I'm not expecting high art and incredible prose from these things, it'd probably be beyond what my smooth brain could appreciate anyway. But I do HAVE to have 'normal' English and grammar. I can handle some misspelled words, hell a few fucked up sentences from some ESL devs isn't even a problem. It's when bar for bar I'm having to reinterpret the sentence that is, allegedly, in my native language. I also need the dialogue to be grounded within the reality of the game. Sometimes from scene to scene it's like the MC has amnesia or is a new person. It's a bit frustrating when the character knows how to deal with a situation in a competent mature way, and then turns into a soft laddie whose only redeeming quality is 'being polite' or well-mannered. Since the MC is generally how we interact, see, and otherwise experience the world I think it would be better for many devs to place more importance on the writing and framing the MC's experiences. Renders are important, obviously the actual Pornographic part of the Pornography Game needs to be done well, I just personally feel that the scale is too tipped in that direction for many of these projects that are supposed to be a merging of Erotic Writing, Gameplay, and Visual Pornography.
There's a lot of projects out there, and there are even more opinions. So, get up on your soapbox and preach to us.
