So, like some others, I came here to lurk. I don't know what to say to all the rest of you internet weirdos, and I'm blatantly making this topic to farm LC points.
That being said, it's a valid question, and something I might want to talk about.

My first reason, I don't really care what other people think, or how they think about me.
Life is both incredible and pointless, so it's easy for me to hardly give two shits.
I'm sure to some extent I do care, but not enough to be bothered by it all.

A second reason, socializing can be tough. It's not enough there are infinite ways for people to be, but also infinite ways to please, probe, pressure and placate to their whims.
The pros and cons of having friends certainly leans heavily towards the pros side, but I frequently find myself feeling like it's easier to remain isolated.
But if 'My Little Pony' has taught me anything,.. say it with me everyone,.. "Friendship is Magic".

Last reason, for now is, I'd rather not share myself with just anyone. Not that I feel like I have much to share anyway, but I like thinking I know the answers to all life's questions,
and am secretly waiting for the right moment to enlighten someone with that one piece of information that changes everything for them.
However, I'm probably just another idiot, talking bullshit on the internet, and actually has no fucking clue what I'm saying, or why.

If you'd read this far, I'm sorry for having waisted the most recent moment of your precious meaningless life. :poop:

I mean socialization is just best done in small groups, it ends up being more meaningful, i am active on multiple discord groups for various topics, but an open forum like this, for porn no less, socialization here is just not the same

i like to hang out with friends IRL. online its just weird to me

Oh, yeah absolutely, but not everybody can get together all the time. Stuff like DnD or even just grouping up to play video games is much easier online, everybody just has to let loose and be chill about it

LOL, this one was good. But seriously, In my case is because am I not used to socialize on the Internet, just with my friends. I guess most people don't feel the need to do it.

It's a kinda cultural question too.

In the USA you might call someone you met at the party last night your friend.
In Germany you don't make friends easy, but if you do, you have a friend for life.

I just get tired of hanging out with people too much.

Online socializing is hard. If there is a subject and I feel like I can contribute to it, great. But feels strange to type out something like, 'great game, thanks!' on a thread.

Absolutely, but just think, that might make their day, that might be the comment that keeps em going. Probably not, but artists have it hard sometimes, knowing someone appreciates their work can go a long way

Funny thing is that I even know this - used to write text stories and had the same reaction of wanting people to reply even if it was a 'fun story!', but I behave in the same manner out of concern for not having enough to say.

Ah, trauma brain, i love that, i do that too, and yknow that's ok too, just trying to remember that the little things add up. I don't always manage to post a little thing, but when i do i can feel good about it.

This is very much true
as a former crappy fanfic writer, encouraging comments and reviews helped motivate me to continue

I would rather socialize in person than over the internet. I dislike texting and prefer to speak.

It's not that I don't like to socialize. I usually enjoy myself in social situations. It just drains my energy.

Some people just seem to get energy and thus seek it out a lot more often.

Well, at least you're honest. If you want to change my life, give me your best recipe for pancakes. I am hungry.

I don't socialise much in person let alone online, although for someone like myself being a somewhat social outcast, it's much easier to speak out and be social online as it's much less impersonal than face-to-face, I also don't post much as I have a bad habit of speaking the truth and sometimes being far too blunt about things and this can offend a lot of people without my meaning or trying to

Same for me. Socializing with others drains my energy.
