Why are so many games censored on the site? Do you even play them censored?

When I see that the game is censored, I lose interest.

There isn't too many that are censored - the ones that are are usually developed by some asian people; where the rules regarding that are stricter.
:)

I agree though, any game with censorship, makes it uninteresting to play for me. (Also for hentai animations / manga)

If you're talking about Western games with incest, this is usually done to get around Patreon's rules. If you're talking about Japanese games with mosaic, it's because of Japanese law, uncensored Japanese games generally only exist because they were officially licensed outside of Japan, but even so some continue with mosaic because the artists didn't detail the genitals very much.

I almost never play games that are censored. It takes away a lot from what it is intended to be.

Patreon has started removing everyone making such games or even art, I believe.

There are several versions of censored.
Some "Censorship" is to bypass Patreon's rules...like no incest and shit.
Others are baked in censorship due to it being produced in Japan. Genitals must be censored. It takes a bit of work to go in and de-pixelate or redraw stuff.

I refuse to play them. to me it defeats the entire purpose of what it is intended to do. If devs are that worried about it, they need to do something else.

Nothing is worse than a censored game.
An unfinished game can still be finished, but a censored one is forever censored.
And no, the uncensor mods or versions do not help. Because of censorship certain games are designed around it like the Sequel series.

Nope, and those are the sort I wouldn't be into anyway - Japanese - which means cartoony AF and Engrish. Japanese made porn movies even blur it - what's the point?

Patreon is a venture-backed private company. Its investors include the founders, employees, and venture capital firms, none of which want to be seen as "promoting" questionable content. Now here is where I go off on a tangent...... It is what happens when a company grows beyond its original vision and is seen by big companies as a potential cash cow. It gets harder and harder to publish certain content because of the growing outcry over it. People have forgotten or refuse to accept that the content isn't bad. "People" are bad but it is easier to blame the content. Why else would a parent sue a video game company over its content, blaming the content on their whacked out kid going out and shooting up an elementary school. Forget the terrible parenting, complete lack of boundaries and actually investing time in your kids. Lets blame it on the content. Countries like Australia have gone as far as to describe underage media, art and illustrations of any kind, as a conceptual "living entity" in order to prosecute people for it. Let that sink in, lol.

Yeah man, Patreon sucks, if I ever make a porn game I'll go straight to Subscribestar.
Many of the devs have moved to it now. There was an outcry for only fans , so they rolled out the changes but not for Patreon.

Yes, its indeed very sad to see, the current state. People believe nowadays everything is out there to get them, not looking in their own backyard. Its going to get worse.

For me, it really depends... I see everyone rage about censored, but it often doesn't bother me. It depends how much is censored and how badly it's done. Most of the time I really couldn't care less, the plot/image/situation is hot enough, I don't care about seeing the full details on someones dick.

There have been an influx of censored games. They seem to come in batches. But yeah, I completely ignore them. Never understood Japanese logic on censoring. Censor genitals, but it's okay to fuck while covered in cockroaches, frogs, or octopuses, etc...

I remember seeing something in the 1990s a lot of big companies secretly held stock in porn producing companies.

You mean Japanese games that are really often (almost 100%) censored? OK, the choice of alternatives is more than plentiful.
The Japanese are unlikely to be overridden by complaints from individual game users.
Honestly, I don't understand what people find in ugly (attention! this is just my personal opinion) Japanese graphics?
In my opinion, the best option is to find alternatives that suit you.
