In Ye Olden Days it was customary, to some extent, that uploaders included links to compressed downloads of their games, as soon as fans provided compressed versions. Some even offered compressed versions themselves.

What happened to this custom? Nowadays, on this site, one has to search the entire thread whether someone uploaded a compressed version. Is there a special reason why the links to third party compression aren't included in the opening post anymore? Or did the custom just die on it's own because it was extra work for the uploaders?

I guess it may be because we have more and more bandwith, so game size is generally less of a concern than it used to be?

Er... No. It's because no one reported it to us if there IS a compression link available. Moderators and Uploaders do not make these.

OK. So if someone creates (or finds) a compression of your game and reports it to you, you would still include it in your OP? Thanks!

Yes. Even if it's one of my games, it gets added. Doesn't matter whose game it is. We have a report button that you can click to let us know. But we would need a link to that location so we can gather it and make the necessary check and uploads.
