As the official Manager of the Uploaders, I'm here to explain how the Game Uploader rank works, the responsibilities, rewards, and some tips to make your life easier

What is a Game Uploader?

Uploaders are the lifeblood of Lewd Corner, as an uploader you'll be responsible for uploading games, updating threads, and filling game requests.

What are the requirements?

• Active on LC and LC (Creator's Oasis) Discord

- That means you need to use the site and Discord (just text chat, not voice), not every day, but we expect you to be active and regularly communicate with us

• Proficiency with the English language

- If you can talk without using a translator you will probably be fine, just remember to use good English when creating and editing threads, some users use translators, and they need to understand all the info

• Availability (to a certain degree)

- That means we expect you to give us some sort of reply when we ask you to do something, we don't have daily demands or something like that, but if we DM you or ping you, please say something when you're available

• A fast internet connection is a plus, but not required

- Why? We need to make mirrors (copies of the same file but in different hosts) because some users can't use some of the famous hosts, and that demands a good connection speed. However we work as a team, so even if you don't have a good connection, you can rely on us to help you with that part. We have moderators with 1GB UP speed so don't worry about that, we need help with other areas of the "uploading" part. Mirrors aren't always required, sometimes devs provide some good links, and we just need to copy and paste them

• Must be able to work with a team

- Mandatory and not negotiable, we will not ask you to force conversations or something like that, but if you can't work with us we can't work with you, sometimes we will need to inform the others when we are updating a thread, creating a new thread, etc, and patience and empathy with your fellow uploaders is the most important part

• Must be able to follow directions or decisions made by a staff members or staff team

- I'll personally guide you and teach you everything you need or want to know. We already have templates, so you don't even need to ask about what info to put where. But you will need to be open to listening and be corrected when necessary. We're all friends here, but we need to take the job seriously as a lot of devs and members are counting on us to deliver their work

What are the rewards?

You will earn the Prestige 4 rank (with badge and full Prestige 4 access) along with other perks that I'd rather talk in private.

But I'm afraid I'll mess with some dev's thread

A lot of new uploaders or users wanting to be uploaders say the same thing, but to be direct ALL YOUR ACTIONS CAN BE REVERSED BY MODERATORS OR ADMINS, so don't be afraid, if you fuck up I'll help you, and of course, I'll take the blame too because it's my responsibility to teach you how to avoid fucking up

Is there a daily quota or something like that? I can't be here every day

We don't have a daily quota, we're only asking for you to update, at least, one game per week, that typically takes just 15 minutes (less after some practice)

Do I have the freedom to upload what I want?

You're free to bring your favorite games to LC, if they're not banned games (we don't have many, but we have a list of banned devs that can't be ignored).
We will ask you to keep them updated (when we have access to a new version) and ask you to help us with updating existing games, along with bringing some new ones too.
TLDR: You can upload your favorite games, but we're here to help the community, not just show off our tastes

I'm not sure if my connection speed is good enough

Most of the time we will provide you with the links or where to find them, you don't need to upload the game or create mirrors. Just create/edit the threads (but if you have a good connection that would help a lot)

Do I need to be online on Discord all the time?

No, but we expect you to try to be online on Discord when you have the time to upload, we will always be talking there using text chat (not so much voice chat), and in an emergency we will ping you there, not here.

Do I need to be online at specific times, like a schedule?

We don't have a schedule, you are free to do your uploader's duties when you have free time, respecting the weekly minimum, that's all

So, I'll have to deal with staff's drama?

No, you will be joining LC's public discord, you will have access to the uploader's channel. Moderators, Admins and Developers have their own Discord server

How to create a game thread and some tips to make your work easier

Creating your first game thread

You can do this without being an official uploader

NOTE FOR UPLOADERS: CHECK DISCORD FOR THE BANNED DEVS LIST BEFORE POSTING THE GAME IF YOU CAN'T REMEMBER ALL THEIR NAMES

First, you will create the thread HERE (you don't have permission to create it inside the games area yet)
Unfortunately, we haven't added the game template inside the requests area yet, but you should see a page like

Once all are uploaded click on

The fastest way is to click on "Select all", then deselect your Main image (which should be the one on the far left) and click on "Thumbnail".
If you need your previews to be within a "Spoiler" box, add the top and bottom "SPOILER" lines as in this screenshot.

To resize the images, click on the image and then "Change size"


The banner should have a 600px height and "auto" width


As for thumbnails, just use the "insert" function and they will have the right size automatically

That should be marked as "yes", some devs will mark it as "no" when they like to update the game themselves (if you don't have that box, just ignore it for now)

If you're trying to add a tag that we don't have the site will not let you, but feel free to suggest a tag if you think we should have it

Promoting

Once you check the "Promote to article" you will be redirected, if not, you can find the "Promotion" button here

Now, on the promotion page we a have few options



The first option is about the banner (which will show on the Latest Updates page)
Always use the "attachment" option, and choose the image that matches the game banner (the full-size image in the game thread) the first image you attach will be the first appearing on that list, but you can easily change it to the actual banner, if you attach them in a random order

Here is where things get confusing



That's the most important part, as is the one that will handle "when" your game will appear on the LU (Latest Updates) page
Use TODAY'S DATE, in your local time (Your PC's clock) as the system will change to the site's time zone

Now your game thread should be 100% ready, and it should be showing in the first page of the LU (if it's a new update, of course)

The list is in the Uploader's channel on discord, probably to avoid random drama.

for big games, we have some tools, but the reports help a lot

As staff we get pretty close to some devs, and some of our staff members have privileged information about updates

On discord (Uploader's channel) we have a list of possible sources, nothing special, we all love AVNs, so when we see a new one on Itchio/Patreon/Substar, etc, that isn't here, we add it

Another question. For the uploading. Is there a LC account on the sites or so for faster uploading? Or is the uploading anonymous? Or free accounts?

we tried that some time ago, didn't work well, so we don't have LC premium accounts anymore

yes, we usually choose to upload to hosts that don't require accounts, so 100% anonymous. But uploading the game/making mirrors is just 10% of the job, we need more help with editing (updating) and creating the threads

I cannot answer the first question... I´ve got no clue...

don't stress yourself, we just want to know when people are trying to sneak their way to M+ access or if they genuinely want to help

I don't understand the point of discord, if all you are doing is texting back and forth, then why
not just text back and forth on Lewd or make one of those private rooms/emails on lewdcorner?

Sounds like the only reason to be on discord, is because discord is viewed as the cool
place to be.

Because not only discord is faster, but we have a lot of tools to help us (from sending links, to ping people in an emergency), but the main reason is that our admins are very, very busy people, they can't keep looking here for DMs and etc, discord is an easy way to always be close to your team and, if necessary, you can even ping them on their phones (no you don't need to have discord on phone, but a lot of people do), so it's another level when we talk about communication (our staff wouldn't be able to work properly without discord, honestly)

You don´t have to. There are many , where you can upload without an account. But for some, you have to. So Yes and no.
It helps, if you do. But that is not a must.
I for myself created an Proton email without any personal info. And with that email I created accounts for uploading.

We also provide tools to help if you are uncomfortable with creating accounts. We make this a non-issue for Uploaders benefit.
