Sorry guys, but NTR was just an idea, and I'm nowhere near ready... Since the game will have some sandbox elements, I'm currently rendering the standard scenes (different scenes for each time of day). Then come the extra scenes, and the ideas come while rendering Once the renders are finished, I'll start coding. Sorry for my English, but it's unfortunately not my native language, and I've already improved a lot in the new chapter.
well since it is set in the wild west, if ntr is added, it would be cool if the option to kill the guy who tries or whatever would also be added. seriously, so far no dev has ever had the balls to do that, it would be hilarious lol.
Please just give an option to make those "experiences" avoidable, or, ideally, with the father/mc. the girls gaining "experience" with people other than the father will very much turn people off the game if it's forced. As it stands, you've probably already lost quite a bit of interest with this ambiguous ntr talk.
I'll admit the game looks good but sadly the adding of ntr ruins it for me, it sucks since a lot of the games in games+ section have some sort of content that not everyone likes such as the swinging/sharing, ntr content, or they were good but get abandoned at some later point due to various reasons sure there is a few current good ones without that content, but that's about it and who knows how long those will last so it's a shame this game will have ntr even if it will be optional or whatever and the games in games+ hardly get funded as is which leads to the game being abandoned so with that on top of added ntr which not many enjoy as is I can see this game probably not lasting long though just my opinion and all but I could see the game getting more traction and stuff possibly if ntr never gets added.
Yeah same here. If my daughters are virgins at the start of the story I want them staying that way until I corrupt/groom them/pop their cherries/creampie/put babies in them, not some classmate or whatever. Also while not nearly as bad as NTR when I see sandbox mentioned these days I also cringe. I'll withhold judgement until I actually play it but most of the time I hate free roaming, being at the right place and time with the right stuff in my inventory, grinding stats/money, etc. When I'm in an AVN mood and horny I just wanna guide a story and fap to some visuals unlocked with choices, not give myself a headache for an hour while trying to figure out how to fuck this or that character. By the time I do I've long since went limp and not in the mood anymore, if I haven't lost my patience and simpy moved on to a different AVN before that point. For those elements I just play an ordinary RPG or something (though rarely these days, not nearly as excited when a new Final Fantasy comes out as I used to be 20 years/6-7 FF's ago).

The wishy washy ntr talk is poison for a game :'D. As I see it there are 3 options, 2 paths NTR yes and NTR no, remove NTR, and full NTR. Trying to thread the line between any of these is just gonna piss everyone off.
The reason I put the warning out very early was to prevent this and the drama has already started in full. It's a sensitive issue and trying to be vague about it will just get you hate.
Keep at it. Definitely looking forward to seeing how this games improves over time. It has an interesting concept going for it with lots of possibilities and potential routes and kinks.

Seriously my guy, the NTR decision is one you need to make pretty early in planning your game if you want to attract a following.
You need to be VERY clear what type of game you are making around that aspect.
Majority of players will prefer no NTR, a smaller set of those will actively avoid games with NTR, even optional.
Games that go full NTR will limit their market quite a bit, polls are hard to do but most are roughly 70/30 split favoring no NTR.
If you don't make these choices early it will lead to alienation and anger in the communites, with lots of "bad press" and toxicity from both sides of the NTR fence.
Also a pro tip, if you do want to do an NTR and non-NTR path seperately, you will need to make sure that it is not simply skipping the NTR scenes, annd that they do not happen or get referenced at all on the non-NTR path, as a lot of devs who tried to be lazy about it have been roasted for it, IE the difference between skippable and avoidable.
At the end of the day it's your choice, but you need to make it quick, stick with it and communicate it clearly on platforms.
Thanks for the warning, I guess it's best to wait.
I guess role-playing wasn't ever your thing. I know for a fact that these aren't real people, I know for a fact that what's happening isn't really happening, I know for a fact that I'm not those cartoons. And yet, despite everything, I still don't like NTR. In fact, I'm pretty sure that we all know that games aren't reality.
Certainly, if you think watching porn is the same as playing a porn game, then we'll never agree. For me, going to see a hero movie isn't the same as playing Baldur's Gate where I am the protagonist (through a character who is my avatar). I guess you think differently, and I respect that, but I'm not going to change the way I play because it offends you.
In the end, I respect that you don't think the same as me, and I'm not saying your point of view is wrong; I'm just asking you to respect mine, because mine isn't wrong either.
Stop now this ntr bullshit... The wife of the MC will never get fucked by another man and His daughters as well the only thought was that the daughters might have some Kind of sex education at school or invite Friends tobthe Lake and swim naked and Play around

Don't tease about NTR. People will lose their shit over it, even for no reason(Like joking, playing dumb, etc). People will go on and on about it.
Also, you do not need to spoil your story. It's okay to talk about what kind of kink is going into your story and what isn't.
------TO EVERYONE-------
Dev has spoken. There won't be any NTR. Should there be ANY new kinks added, feel free to report and we will add appropriately. Let's drop this here.
Just wait and see what happens... you either like it or you don't. I'm writing this VN as I imagine the fictional world, and I honestly don't know where it will lead me. The game won't have an end (at most, if I die in the middle of it). I'm also grateful for input on how it should continue.
Do what YOU want to do. Don't let the complaining here drive you away. Because the moment you start making story on whims of other people, it becomes the road to the [Abandoned] tag.
I don't like NTR but I can acknowledge that worse than it is losing a developer who has been making a game. More so one with rarer themes.
It's good to take what people have to say in mind but not let them take over your project.
What I would recommend as person who's been payrolling many projects is: 1. Draft out your story.
You have to have some form of idea where the story leads, how it's going to develop in the future and what themes it's going to tackle. Because the moment you start creating a story with each update, instead of an overall narrative, the game turns into a mess.
Earlier stories may stop making sense or not fit. Which then either strips away your will to make more or leads to famous remasters which eat up even more development time.
2. Decide whether sandbox is worth it.
Realistically you are a new developer, right? Ask yourself really what do sandboxes give you beside more work to do. The moment you open that can of worms, there is no going back really. From there it's matter of polishing each "zone" in the game. Adding random events, timed events and hell minigames.
Problem is that LOT of sandbox games end up being time wasters. Like making an event that specifically triggers after you do a handstand during saturday morning while having 20 charisma so you can unlock a scene of your daughter doing yoga or something. When the game becomes an annoying chore, it stops people from being interested in your story AND adds more work for you to do.
Where if you're just telling a story in a more... narrow line, you can make it short, sweet and to a point. You achieve same thing.
Say John needs to chop some firewood during the morning. If it's a VN, you do couple of renders for the firewood. He does it, story moves on.
If you do it via sandbox, you have to make it so your character wakes up in the morning. You have to make it so player now has to click on the area where he chops wood. Go into that area. Click on the "chop firewood button" because obviously one area wouldnt be for doing one thing, right? And only then you start the firewood chopping scene. Development and player time consumed unecessarily.
3. Commit to themes.
I think one of the most important factors is knowing what is the story going to be about. Is it going to be a romance story? Corruption story? Dark one? Is it going to have this fetish and that fetish?
You're the developer and unlike us, YOU are the one spending days and nights working on it. That's why it's good if you fill it with things that YOU like. However make them in a way that is... presentable to the others too. Lean into things that your game is about.
If the story is going to have incest in it, think of a good way to start the incest. One that makes sense. Instead of another "Oh, I saw my daughter bathing and she's hot. I'll try to fuck her" type of cliches.
Same goes for the loli theme for example. If you want to tackle that too, commit to it. It's good to know how old are the daughters, it's good to hint at the fact that they aren't really... well, mature. Play around with the taboo theme. Otherwise it's just another game where the theme stops mattering.
Half measures really get stories nowhere and usually lead to abandonment because developers lose interest.
4. Don't overcommit to amount of characters.
While it's your game and your story to tell, consider that you originally started with a specific amount of characters. You introduced the visual novel with those characters first and they were ones that drew people to get interested.
Lot of new developers do a mistake where they keep adding more and more characters to the mix. Which then results in the originals over time getting less and less story, progression or sex scenes. It branches out the story too thin and also leads developers to over time lose focus on the story as there's too many variables, too many characters to keep track of.
It complicates things more than it should. If you're a starting developer, consider making a more humble story. Limited amount of characters but a well written, well structured story that doesn't have many characters but those which have the scenes have fair amount of them.
5. Do your research.
If you're to write a western story, do your research on that topic. On countries. On where it takes place, history and so on. What people did at that times, how they lived. How majority felt about others. How the towns, states looked. Also think of it this way - it wasn't a nice time for people. People were casually hanged, there were rapists and criminals on the loose with couple of lawmen. Racism towards black, natives and mexicans was high out there. These little quirks add to realism and feel of the story. Doesn't need to be tied to the main characters but perhaps some rumors, some supporting cast? Some one off character that isn't a pleasant person? Or on contrary defends the people wronged in that time? Who knows. But unlike our times, it was different - thus decide to differentiate your game with an appropriate time period.
For example one of the zones that I was personally bugged about was the oasis scene. Where in a western movie they move through actual sand dunes and find a desert oasis. I know, little irrelevant detail but it instantly took me out of the story because it made no sense. If you want to tell a story and get inspired, consume bit of media around it to get ideas.
Fair few Tarantino movies depict quite gritty western lifestyle. Red Dead Redemption 2 allows you to immerse yourself in the western style story. Lot of old flicks have also interesting themes and so on.
6. Introduce characters more.
One of the things that I've noticed during playing lot of the VNs is that many don't introduce the characters that much. It would make sense for the main character as he needs to be somewhat flexible. However the main/supporting cast is usually what drives people to like the game and drives the developer to make more because he likes those characters.
Give each character some quirks, some habits, likes and dislikes and introduce them in more natural ways.
For example.
One of the daughters is an arachnophobe. During a day she sees a spider, panics and runs to her father to ask him to kill the spider. Father obliges. Update or two later, spider is crawling on her while she sleeps. She wakes up, screams and runs to her dad for comfort and wants to sleep with parents in their bed.
Then depending if the father is good or bad, he can manipulate events by playing on his daughter's fears. Find couple of spiders, put them on daughter's clothes. Which then prompts her to panic and take out her top. Which leads to a shirtless scene. Possibilities are endless.
When character personalities, flaws, nicknames, likes, dislikes and such are thought out from the start, you will have easier time telling the story. While viewer has easier time getting to like the characters and you as the developer.
7. Don't let people here get to you.
Fair few developers on this site have left due to misunderstandings or disputes with other members. Since some people can't unfortunately behave. However if you're going to be telling a story and making a game that's for yourself AND for the others to enjoy it, stick with sites that help you support it. Hell, maybe in future it may turn into a job if you keep it up.
Otherwise - this site and others can help you build up your community, give you feedback, help perhaps with inspirations or keep your game alive by talking about it and getting excited over updates. Which then motivates you to do more. Unfortunately some people come out too... blunt and without any tact which may be at points unpleasant. Don't really let that get to you.
As this site and sites like it are more asset than a nuisance.
8. Polish the english.
Be it using a translator. AI or community feedback and asking for help. Doesn't really matter how it's done but when the english is properly written, the game becomes more enjoyable for everyone. You'd be surprised how many people are put off by improper english.
Hope this helps a bit as it took me a.... while to write. I wish you the best with the development and hopefully you'll over time show us what you have cooked up with the story

Thank you so much for your words. I really appreciate it I started researching the Oregon Trail before writing this and also watched a few movies. The story is actually a family tale with lewd content, similar to "Little House on a Prairie." The oasis thing couldn't be done any differently because there are very few assets related to it... I occasionally post new scenes on my Discord server so players know where the journey is going I only do this in my free time alongside my main job... so it might take a while.
personally, this is the part that has me doubting this one. sex education? like what, reading books? friends to swim naked and Play around? like what, beach ball? and why naked? they are poor and have no swimmsuits? seriously? this is so sus that sus suses its susing out of shame.

My brother in christ, its 1800s
What swimsuits. Majority of western settlers were also dirt poor too.
What dev said wasn't suspicious in slightest.
Teacher actually being a perv and trying to "teach" the kids is very much possible. Equally as father trying to teach his daughters.
Kids learning together without the MC present is also entirely possible to categorize in that field.
Also dev has made his statement already so no point to just poke at the topic further.

Also back then the age of consent was anywhere from 7-12, depending on territory and year(s) in question, though I imagine it was generally still frowned upon for teachers to fuck their 2nd grade class with hands-on sex ed. As far as realism goes though 19th century is the perfect setting for the loli tag. I do remember readign a book called The Great Train Robbery when I was a kid. Forgot when it was written or by who but it's set in the 1850's, and some of the scenes were pretty graphic. An example: the leader of a bandit gang fucks too many whores and ends up with syphilis. Of course a "folk remedy" back then was fucking a virgin would supposedly cure their syphilis. Naturally this drove the price up of the younger ones through the roof, to the point even some lower class parents would hire a skilled seamstress to sew their hymens back together and re-pimp them as "virgins" several times. Of course after the Civil War there were plenty of orphans to the point "virgin(?)" prices temporarily dropped and resewing hymens no longer made economic sense. Ah, the good ol' days.

I hadn't heard this before, so I looked it up. You're absolutely right. Wow. Did not know all that. See below:
How Age of Consent Laws Have Changed Over Time
It might be shocking, but back in 1880, the age of consent in most states was just 10 or 12 years old, and in Delaware, it was only 7 years old. This meant that girls at incredibly young ages could be legally married off or sexually involved with much older men. These laws were eventually changed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as society began to recognize the need for stronger

. By 1920, 26 states had raised the age of consent to 16, 21 states set it at 18, and Georgia was the only state to keep it at 14. The last two states to update their laws were Georgia (1995) and Hawaii (2001), both raising their age of consent to 16. Originally, these laws were mostly aimed at men engaging in relationships with younger women. In fact, for a long time, many states required that the female be of chaste character, meaning she had to be a virgin, for statutory rape charges to apply. This requirement was finally removed in 1998, when Mississippi became the last state to eliminate the chastity condition.

Wow, think of all the possibilities this game has! Imagine all the hi jinx the girls got up to behind the scenes on Little House on the Prairie (if they really lived back then)?

Delaware was a strange one, even back then (prob Delaware jokes going around in saloons the way Alabama jokes are today for incest). It also set the AOC to 10 which was in place since it was still a British colony but in 1871 for some reason I can't find (probably someone important caught fucking a 7yo) it was lowered to 7 until 1895. Ohio thankfully is still a unique case (at least in the US). AOC is still 16 and age difference does not matter and you can also legally fuck your brother or sister and make some babies if you both want to (as long as one isn't a guardian over the other). If only other state gov'ts would stay out of their citizens' bedrooms, mainly because probably 15-20% of the population does it anyway and with the general privacy laws in place the few caught mostly only happens after the fact anyway when the so-called damage is already done (when babies are already made or they are exhibitionists caught in the act). I mean why not outlaw ugly people, midgets, or anyone with other undesireable traits fucking so they don't make ugly/midget/undesirable future generations? That makes as much sense to me, but imagine the outrage if anyone even suggested that on a state house/senate floor. Oh and LHOTP was a book series written in the 1930's based on the diaries of Laura Inglels Wilder. Most of it is probably made up/improvised with heavy artistic licence to sell more books but inspired by true stories. Like most still alive I came across it first when I was a kid watching the 1970s' TV show reruns with my grandpa (probably already 20+ years old by that point).
