They are not weird, just too bold for society.

Something that is very common for many to imagine or fantasize about cannot be considered strange.

But its taboo.

EDIT: I am not like defending the movie or anything, just pointing something out.

Even though it's just pure fiction, there have been many cases where movie directors were severely beaten for making / publishing such provocative and taboo movies. It gets me off every time, normies don't even realize that all those movies represent less than 1% of real-life events lol 🤣 🤣:eek::)

upd. It's actually sad that for showing/saying how does real life work, real life problems, real life brutality etcetc.. you'll be judged by lots of ppl in no time. They rather want to hide such things like nothing ever happened, than talk about it and solve them:unsure:😭😖

I liked American Psycho, good old movie

If you want a strange movie then the Barbarian. Not Conan, just Barbarian. It starts good but then....
It seems that the writer started on one movie then suddenly just said that s/he wanted to do another movie and forgot to change which file to write in and boom!

Both of these movies are quite normal (and I'm talking about both adaptations of Nabokov's novel). It's not arthouse, it's just mainstream. If I want to watch something really “weird” or "strange", I turn to European cinema, to the films of Lars von Trier, for example. The once great Hollywood is now held together only by old men - Scorsese, David Lynch. The rest is just fast food, nothing more.

No, Hollywood is kept from collapsing by releasing 3 Marvel films every year. If they didn't, nobody would be making any money. Sure, lots of movies are getting awards, but no one is paying to see them. Neither of the movies in the first post are strange. Strange is the realm of Ichi The Killer, The Holy Mountain and too many others to name. Bonus points for anything with Harris Glenn Milstead in it.
