Unconfirmed
So, I have a folder on the laptop full of AVNs. I don't take great care to hide it because nobody usually uses my laptop. I did set it as hidden and select not to show hidden files. Anyway, I come home from work and open the laptop and the folder is open and a game was running., I want to ask people who live here (wife, son, daughters) if they were snooping on my laptop, but at the same time it is embarrassing. Not sure what to do. Just ignore it and move the folder? What would you guys do?

Ask them individually, starting with the kids. That way you don't rat yourself out to your wife if it wasn't her. If they deny it, look for any sign of embarrassment. Obviously keep a cool head, whoever it was, just explain it or at least treat them with an open mind.

Otherwise, let it go and don't worry about it, unless it becomes an issue later.

Depents... was it an incest game? ;)

This is exactly why I mostly play on my phone honestly, scared of this happening where somebody uses my computer and plays an AVN or finds out

Depends on how public your laptop is to your family, do your kids use it a lot or is it usually only you. Do they have their own laptops and computers. Why would they have reason to use your laptop? You said nobody usually nobody uses it check if one of them have a problem with their computer/laptop which is why they would use yours

It's more than likely your wife if the kids have no reason to use it. What kind of wife doesn't like snooping every now and then. If it's her then hopefully the game or games she opened aren't too terrible for vanilla eyes

Good luck brother

Probably what I will do. Sounds pretty reasonable.

I have thought about using the phone instead but my laptop is usually in the study and everyone has their own devices (the eldest share a gaming pc and the youngest uses a tablet, wife has a work PC) so I didn't give it much mind. Tomorrow I will ask if anyone has issues with their devices.

I've never hidden from family members that I sometimes entertain myself with such games, so I don't have any problems because of it. After all, my wife is not without sin - she loves Sims 4 in combination with WW.
In addition, I'm not interested in games from the closed section, only vanilla, so in this regard it is easier for me.

Hope none of it was smol or grape related and let it pass 😌

Ohhhh someone's in trouble...... Maybe your lucky. If your not getting yelled at you got someone as kinky as you in the house and that could be.... Fun....:devilish:

One thing you could do, if you want to try and narrow down your suspicions.... Go to EventViewer within Windows.

Navigate to System, and look for when your computer last Shut Down and last Booted around the time frame.
This will at least tell you when the computer started. If it stated at a time when only 1 Family member was home, you know which family member it was.

In my below example, you can see that I turned off my computer at 23:30 last night (True) and I switched it back on earlier today at 11:14 (True).
The logs date back for weeks. So you should still be able to see the day when this all happened.

Just thought this could help!

I'd guess it was the kids, since children is naturally curious, and I think if your wife eas snooping she would've closed it all when finishing the "investigation".
One thing that I do, since I often uses AppData, so my computer is set to show hidden files, is define the porn folder as a system folder. That way it only shows up if you opt to show hidden system files, and people don't usually activate it.
And if you didn't do it yet, deactivate recent folders and files on Windows. Sometimes they show files that we are trying to keep hidden.

This is why my computer has a password only I know, the drive with "stuff" needs a digital key (which obviously only I know where it is) to be read and anything and everything nonstandard has another password(which once again only I know) you need to even read the name of the file beyond the 2 letters I assigned to it.
Not much help with your actual issue, but something to think about for the future.

Do you want to point to the area on the doll where the Ghost touched you, Severed?

You can put passwords in folders?
I find OSs pretty limited in that sense. I always hated multiple users, because many programs, configurations and even installations keep tied to just one of them, when my wife and I keep interchanging the computer, so changing users is a unnecessary hassle. But not having the option to password lock a browser user, for exemple, seems dumb.
