Is "I'd appreciate a like if you find it funny or helpful" already begging for likes or just a friendly reminder that a tip is appreciated?

In todays LC coin economy I dont think you need to ask for the likes.
Most users knows the grind is real

I'm not a mod, so can't speak to the exact rules... But if this was your Sig? I wouldn't mind it. But if you actively write it in every single message? That'd be annoying to me... At the end of the day, many are here to amass the coins and gain the priviledges, we know to like, post, reply. What matters more to me, is whether you're offering something worthwhile and engaging. If you do that, you won't need to remind anyone, they'll automatically "react" to your message because they have a response to it.

I don't currently have a grind, as I reached the short-term goal before I had to buy M+ with coins. And I don't want to brainless farm coins.

I would really appreciate it if someone would leave a like if a comment was helpful or funny. The 5 coins are a nice side effect.

Good luck with your coin-farming. Getting all the tiers is a climb unless you have time to post a lot of stuff without spamming or get lucky with a bunch of likes. There are lots of tips out there to get coins faster too.

People are extremely stingy with likes lately, especially given the cool off time (which is WWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too long.) They mostly have to REALLY like it and feel like giving it, and lots less facepalms and such (they don't want to give points for something they don't like...)

And it would be annoying for me to write that every time. ;)

100% agree

I have the feeling that many people simply don't think about it. Hence the friendly reminder.

Except they usually don't. Not anything like before. Even before the coin system came out.

Another factor, besides not thinking about it, is the timer... I'm someone who likes to like! I like to give a reaction to the posts and replies that interest me... But, before Prestige 1, the timer was KILLING me... My autoresponse was "Hahha, I'll click Like... Damnit!". Back to waiting 2 mins...

The most annoying thing about the Like cool down time is when you are a dev and people post good comments on your own game thread and I have to wait 2 minutes between each like. Ugh, I know why the timer is there but sometimes I get bored staring at the screen waiting for the cool down timer.

If I really like something or find it helpful, then I'll wait the 2 minutes.
Your post cost me 2 minutes of my life :ROFLMAO:

If you react with a "negative" emote, you will give them coins no?
Yeah, it should. At least the 🖕 does. Was the guinea pig myself.

I wouldn't call "reminding" about likes the same thing as begging. Sort of a lame salescraft technique, maybe, picked up from social media sites and YouTubers. I'd think, too, that it probably dissuades some readers from liking a post (even if they do) just out of spite.

I don't farm coins at any price ;)

I know, and sooner or later I will get there with or without likes.

Yeah I don't count on likes for coins. I post for topics that are interesting to me and that I have something relevant to say.

Me neither. My goal are the likes, the coins are just a pleasant side effect.

Yes, that would count as "begging". Will every post like that deleted? No. Do you risk issues? Yes.
Also don't put it in your signature.
If people appreciate your post, they will react to it. ;)

Yes, all reactions give you coins, no matter if "negative" or not.
The only one I am unsure of is the red thumbs down, as it is the only true negative reaction, it even reduces ones post count.
