discussion Romance vs corruption

I've spent a fair amount of time playing different games, taking a lot of different paths to find the content that interests me.

But It'd interesting to see just how many follow similar paths.

Do you take your first time through an intricate game as a passive outsider?

Possibly you've got an angel and a devil on your shoulders?

Or, you try to get them as fired up, and filled with doubt, you control their every thought and action?

I'll tend to lean to the neutral route on a first play through. Getting a feel for the plot/writing/scenes involved. Which usually is subject to change part way through, leading down the corruption path. I do find a lot of bad endings like that,lol

I find myself usually following the corruption route as a first option.

If there are mutiple girls i usually romance 1 and corrupt the others. If i really like the game then i replay it to see both paths

typically I just romance, if its an option, but if that completely locks you out of some good scenes (as opposed to love/corruption being just variants with different dialogue), I'll try some corruption and mix and match. I typically avoid dark paths or anything outright mean, as that doesn't really get me off. Just whatever ain't pure malice, and maximizes the lewd scenes with anything biologically female and dickless in the end really.

Depends on the mood.

Sometimes you feel like chocolate. Sometimes you feel like vanilla.

And sometimes the developers sense of chocolate or vanilla is not what you like, so you switch over.

Depends on the game and the characters but I tend to go the corruption route since that is where the best art is.

I enjoy manipulative corruption but if it turns violent, i abandon that route and restart with romance. Basically I'd rather win a battle of wits than enforce rule of law with brute strength.

I start a neutral/love route to know the story and then in the replay a full corrupt route

I have literally never played a corruption route in any game. It's entirely romance for me.

I act in games the same way I would act in life. So for me the choice is obvious. Romance.

Depends on my mood, which helps when a game has pretty fleshed out exclusive branching paths.

Usually use corrupt but prefer love path. xD

In the best stories I find its hard to disentangle the romance from the corruption. In games with two clear 'paths' I find I often start the corruption path, find out it's not what I want, and choose the romance path instead. But ideally for me its somewhere in the middle.

I mainly go for love route. But sometimes there is some hateable character (but sexy enough) and i just to spite them go for corruption route.
