I don't know much about what AI can do nowadays, I know you can make a picture of slop with a simple prompt like "naked brunet woman laying on a bed", or a soulless Chat GPT "story" with a few simple sentences, but what about code?

What I'm wondering is: where is AI at for coding games? Will there be a time in the near future where I can write a prompt in some AI generator to create a Ren'Py like game? (Obviously, a more detailed prompt would generate a possibly better game, but I think you know what I'm asking here.)

This question is something I started thinking about after making a post in the Parodies thread. I made a comment about wanting a "Brady Bunch" game with a couple simple ideas about the premise for what the stories set in that world could be. Having no talent for art, writing, or coding, there's no way I could create such a game, so I have to wait for someone else to do it, unless...

Haven't tried it, but for generic stuff it seams to work, you can test games there too.

Thanks for the link, that is pretty much the type of thing I was asking about. I think I may have broken it though; I tried to make a "Being John Malkovich" type game about a kid that uses the door into people's minds to get a date for prom. Nothing smutty, just a basic VN with no choices, 7 characters, and 9 locations. Either I don't understand how the creator works (definately) or the creator got stuck trying to create the game. But this is almost exactly what I was asking about, I would of course want it to be something entirely self-contained on my computer so I could create any game I want without worrying about censorship from a website's owner.

I think it still needs to be dumbed down for Luddites like me though, I gave it the story, what happens in the story and how it plays out. I gave it a physical description of all the characters including their ages, and a short description of all the set locations, and that's where it got stuck. I think that should have been enough to create the game. Still pretty neat to play around with though.
