I'm curious what everyone's thoughts are on this question. A lot of games have the "virgin" tag on them, but it seems like it's not often that games actually show any blood when you take a character's virginity. Looking forward to some lively discussion on this one.

The second option is definitely the best one. It’s there—if you want it, you can have it—but if you don’t like it or aren’t interested, you can choose to leave it out of your game, and that’s absolutely wonderful. Giving players options to customize their experience to their personal tastes is always a good thing.

I can't think of a single time I cared whether or not it showed blood to indicate someone was a virgin, or whether it made the scene better or worse. In fact, it feels like the vast majority of the time they even bother to use blood is whenever its meant to be a surprise the character is a virgin [because of presumed promiscuity that the game sets up about the character before hand]. I think my actual issue with it [for 3D games specifically] is that fluids are always weird and kinda shitty.

Overall tho, if it's simple enough, I'd say have it with an option to turn it off.

Your right the fluids are a little wonky and making the texture change for a one time shot can be a bit tedious to do and that may be why it isn't in games that often. But for me blood doesn't bother me at all so it really doesn't matter :)

Not needed and never wanted blood to show in my AVN's, but allowing it to be optional doesn't bother me.

Guess I see these games more as fantasy and don't need them to be realistic to enjoy them.

Funnily, i have either seen games where the virgin bleeds upon being deflowered, or ones they don't. I never seen any who let the player choose with some sort of prompt what they'd like to see ("Would you like for girls to bleed upon being deflowered?"). I imagine it is because the games would need to have two different images for the same scene. Unless the scene is repeatable, then it should already have the non-blood variant anyway (because the person in question would already have been deflowered)

The classic Kasumi Rebirth had it as an option. But I'm pulling a 15+ [holy fuck] year old flash game just for the only reference I can think, so it's definitely the exception for it to be included.

I think it makes sense to have blood, especially when characters react to someone being a virgin as if there was blood (which someone else also mentioned above), but it doesn't really affect my enjoyment of a game either way. I know some people are very turned off by blood though, so having it as an option makes more sense than always on imo.

the separation of fantasy and reality is important, especially for those that spend way too much time playing lewd games.
not talking of censorship, talking about not making something as real as possible.

I broke my hymen horseback riding. At least that's what I told my Gyno.

Normally i don't care if there is blood or not, in that case i think that the option of making blood optional is the best.

Kidding of course.

Lots of games have a Blood/No Blood option in the preference menu.

If a girl is a virgin, then her first time should be meaningful and impactful in the story. Yes, not every girl in real life has a hymen; the wonderful thing about games is, it isn't real life. I'm ok with not every girl in a story being a virgin, and not every virgin having a hymen or bleeding when her cherry is popped, but I want some. And for those who don't bleed during their first time, it needs to be an impactful first scene. A girl who has never taken anything inside her shouldn't suddenly be taking the protagonist's giant cock like an experienced hooker. Let her have some discomfort, let it be a moment, then let her enjoy it.

In a game with the option I tend to leave it on, but it isn't a deal breaker when playing a game without it.
