I was just permanently banned from paypal and while they refuse to give a reason, the only reason that I can come up with is my donation here. I know I'm ignorant of the policies of most payment services\etc, and I am definitely not saying not to donate here but I figured it's something worth mentioning as it will probably happen to others as well.

Happened to me, also. Same thing with not giving a specific reason, even after talking to several people on the phone, just a permanent ban. Not really a huge deal for me, since I didn't really use Paypal for much, but it sucks because I can't even delete credit card info off of the account or anything.

Same, it's not that big of a deal as paypal has gone to shit but WTF is with them keeping all of our payment details. Such a scummy company.

They also shut down Tripods. The dev of The Sister In Law. His was collecting his money from patreon now he is locked out of a bunch because he leaves it sitting for a while.

they also hit lewdcorner & my personal account, i think it was more of a ban wave that hit a lot of nsfw artists & donators sadly.

girlfriend got banned on her account as well she isnt even a contributor.

They also "permanently limited" [ban-hammered] my account after a recent donation to LC, but I'd already done one in Oct. last year with no immediate reaction, so it seems like it's part of a sweep.
For many months I've subscribed to various devs on Fanbox, but I guess that didn't trigger them either — Or perhaps it was a coordinated strike with Fanbox shunning sm0l devs.

PayPal has gone downhill and I don't think there is any recovery. They used to be so good back in the day but every GREAT policy has been removed and replaced with GARBAGE. I had a PP debit linked to my Bank directly I could make purchases even without money in my PP they would charge my bank and I would earn cash back. It was GREAT. Well that was removed now I can only spend if there is money sitting in my PP account. I REFUSE to leave money sitting in PayPal. The card is absolutely USELESS now. Every since eBay started their own payment system I rarely use PP anymore so GOODBYE PP you used to be a King now you are ashes.

Basically all western payment processors are ran by utter scum and everyone is screwed until someone finally decides to make one that only cares about money and nothing else. I can only imagine how much hell it is to create one considering how much money one without the same restriction as the current ones force on people would make. It would shift the market over night because frankly who wants to deal with this bullshit.

Run by a bunch of cunts it seems.

Paypal's stock has gone from 300 USD to 60 in the last three years. I don't get why a bank would think that would improve if they kick customers out with no explanation.

Paypal has done that for donations made to charity groups for much longer than three years, and did so while they were at their peak.

because they keep all the money they got on, same way as they charge you now automatically 1nce per year if you got card linked and you werent on it for a year and if you dont have enough for their fee they take what you have on and close account. they just grab all that non active got, but in total ban situation they take all that ppl have on it. specially if you can use it only if you got cash wired on, its total steal - instant profit. way more than provisions.

Glory to crypto?

Most of the banks/paying services are cunts, ngl. It's only a matter of time before you get banned

This User is on vacation. Response time may be delayed. Vacation to Dec 31, 2105.
I had a similar experience recently. Fellow artist got his paypal account banned for selling lewd art commissions and someone reported the paypal account. Not even Loli, just normal hentai.

They are parasitic shitheads like all other banks. In my case they locked my account for no reason and forced me to verify myself by ID, it didn't work so I had to call them to manually fix it. This was probably more than 10 years ago.

At the time, I didn't even use the account so I have no idea why it got flagged.
It seems that they have a tendency to fuck over their users randomly.

Yes. I really wish there was a good alternative. But paypal and credit cards are the to-go thing. Ask clients to pay via bitcoin and you already loose most of them and there is also no way to do automated subscription payments.

Even Ko-fi and other such donation sites get shut down if one sells lewd content. It's like we're back in the dark ages again with book burning and heretic investigations ^^"
