Unconfirmed
Hey there folks. There's a great need here, as on any good forum, to have respectable and entertaining off-topic talks about the medium of cinema. So let me start of my asking all of you: What has been your favorite film of 2024 so far, and what upcoming release are you the most excited for?

I'll start,
To me, hands down, my favorite film of 2024 so far was Dune part 2, and the release I got my eyes on the most is Rober Eggers' new version of Nosferatu.

What about y'all!

I would have to agree. Dune 2 is prime candidate for Movie of the Year in my book.
As for upcoming movies; I don*t know enough about which movies are on the horizon

Dune 2 was good. A slightly older movie that I just watched was On The Count Of Three. That Jerrod Carmichael is a pretty good actor. Pretty darkly funny too. Fallout series was also worth watching and is one of the better adaptations. They didn't copy any storyline but wrote a new story in the Fallout universe. Worth watching too.

Transformers. Really enjoyed MUCH.
And while dune 2 us probably gonna be number one, i still haven't watch it, because i plan to rewatch dune first before watching dune 2.
Fallout was fun too. Makes me want to play fallout.

Dune 2 looks great. I haven't seen a lot new, movies are so expensive now. Want to see Ghostbusters Frozen Empire, but also want to see Oppenheimer.

Anyone watch the new guy richie film. The ministry of ungentlemanly warfare?

Up to now, I go with Dune Part 2, too.
The new Guy Richie film will be something that I would like to see at some point and I can see that be very good entertainment for me, but I am not expecting it to top Dune ;)

"Pussy talk" is a blast

Enjoy

Earth women are easy is a cool movie that has a bunch of cool actors when they where young and for some it's there first time on film.

Watched two jap movies recently that were very good.
1 - "Perfect Days (2023)", cool film about a public toilet cleaning man... Reflective and deep while not much is happening, yet still manages to be captivating.
2 - "Harakiri (1962)", a classic about revenge with great storytelling.

i liked that one with the little vampire girl ... "Abigail" i think ?
not revolutionary but yeah ... it's watchable

Can't say there was anything I liked so far, but definitely waiting for Alien: Romulus. It's been way too long since last movie in this franchise.

I haven't seen many 2024 films as Hollywood offerings mostly suck. I did enjoy Dune II

Late night with the devil was disappointing.
Seconded. I had high expectations from the description, but it fell so flat in execution. I even watched it late night, trying to get the vibe, but it didn't take any risks to make impressionable.

I found the movie "Knox Goes Away" to be somewhat intelligently written and a new turn on the standard plotline. Kept me entertained more than some of the other movies I have watched lately.
