There are already some games in there that previously required a payment, so I can say it'll be worth it
No offense to the originator of the thread, and I get that's their personal choice and perogative, but I don't see how that actually achieves anything. A bad-actor can still grind the necessary coins with your help and get access if they really wanted to.
Seems fair to me. I was once part of a forum that was around since 2004. I was there for 2 years. I was still the noob, probably always would be in the eyes of some. Doesn't make me more or less trustworthy, but we all have to decide where and with whom we draw the line.
I want to say I understand the frustration of both site owner and new accounts. It is always impossible to prevent bad actors from doing whatever they want, if they are dedicated enough. There is a very fine balance to prevent most bad actors, but still not drive away the main audience of the site. Systems like this needs a long time to find that balance, and I do feel it was a bit too much, too fast - thought I doubt they had the time or the leisure of building something like that.
Thanks to that, I checked the time on my account, and shit, I swore it was less than a year old...
I'd like to say a bad actor can grind things out now and make it into members +, but that is a limited problem for the probable few willing to go through the effort now. Once the raise is in place, it's much less likely that this site will get people who will go through the effort to try bringing this place down.
I get that but I'd say watch their actions and see how they interact with the community. Either way you really never know. The age of the account doesn't necessarily mean all that much. Take me my account isn't that old but I used the site for a long time and only made an account when things got split apart, then only started using the forums when I was forced to. Just my half a cent.
