blood on the tracks is great. that author has some good stuff. check out flowers of evil if you havent. has an adaptation but its shit though.

i guess for me it's I am a Hero, very sick zombie apocalypse manga. has an adaptation but it's live action.

This. Black Lagoon is a prime example.
Golgo 13, even though it had an anime series only a handful of issues were adapted for it. The two anime films were original stories.
