One of the best overall games I've ever played.

I re-played this game for the 3rd time, but I keep wishing there was an opportunity to have some shared Cece/Linda content, like Kira/Robin and Lexi/Holly.

I'd like to see a sequel or at least some add-on DLC.

Music Restoration Mod [v1.2.2] - With WT DLC Patch
By Azk66

Overview:

This mod adds an option to the Preferences screen to allow you to switch the music
from the chapters 1 to 7 to the original soundtrack chosen by Drifty before the license holder invalidates a lot of licenses.

The effort Drifty put in the original soundtrack is way too good, in my opinion,
and should stay available, so here it is.

Mod Version: 1.2.2
Game Version: 1.0c / Ch8

Add an option to the Preferences screen to switch to original music.
The options will also change a dialogue around one of the music.
You can switch mode during the game, it works. If a song has already started, it won't switch unless you rollback to the point where it starts
  • If you're using Leap of Faith WITHOUT the Walkthrough DLC
    • Download the Music Restoration Mod only
    • Install the Music Restoration Mod by unzipping the mod and put the "game" folder in your Leap of Faith root directory (where the original game folder is). Overwrite files if asked
  • If you're using Leap of Faith WITH the Walkthrough DLC
    • Download the Music Restoration Mod and the Patch for Walkthrough DLC Version
    • Install Music Restoration Mod by unzipping the mod and put the "game" folder in your Leap of Faith root directory (where the original game folder is). Overwrite files if asked
    • After installing the Music Restoration Mod, install the Patch for Walkthrough DLC Version, by putting all the scripts files into the "game" directory. Overwrite files if asked.
v1.2.2
  • Fix chapter 2 missing original soundtrack (2 scenes, hospital and Robin)
v1.2.1
  • Fix chapter 5 missing the original soundtrack
v1.2.0

Wait.. how long has this game been complete?

This is a good classic game. Did the creator ever make a sequel?

*** The Latest SanchoMod Core v6a ***

Updated: 09-11-2022
Modder: Sancho1969
Mod Version: v1.0.1s & v1.0.1se (both Steam compatible)
Game Version: Ch8 1.0.1c or 1.0.1s
Language: English

  • Improved aesthetics with animated mod menus/screens, all fully customizable to tailor your personal experience.
  • Too many story branches got you down 'cause you can't remember which of your saves is which? I gotcha covered. Includes the Original SanchoMod save description feature. Often imitated (including the use of my GUI buttons) the SanchoSave is more intelligent and efficient, saving you keystrokes as it autoloads the save slot descriptions and it also allows you to completely escape the process of saving if you wish (I've personally not seen this feature with other imitations). Feature can be toggled on/off anytime as desired.
  • Adds multiple exhaustive stats screens always accessible via the MiniMenu or Options menu. Resizable, toggle-enabled, various formats, and more.
  • Adds in-game walkthrough (ChoiceGuide) noting all variable changes and highlighting important choices. Can be toggled on/off at anytime, play as YOU want to play. You are not forced to view spoilers if you do not wish.
  • Multiple opacity and text sizing options to customize your experience including dialogue boxes, text and fonts, QuickMenu sizing and format versions, and more. All can be toggled on/off as desired, again allowing you even more control to tailor your experience.
  • Adds a custom fully unlocked scene gallery (SanchoGallery) that runs completely independent.
  • Adds professionally coded custom cheats (SanchoCheats) if applicable (varies from port to port).
  • Guide for Opportunities, Phone Tasks, Optional Tasks, Nuke Posts, and more.
  • Too many new features to list.

"Note"Choice additional or expanded information.
"Player's Choice"Choice set has no changes other than dialogue. Choose whichever choice you wish.
"Submenu"Choice has additional subset of choices that are otherwise unseen if not selected.
PC: Extract contents to the "game" folder found inside the title's main folder, overwrite as prompted. Do only these steps, nothing else is required.
Sancho Pre-release reminders for myself and to get others up to speed before launch:

OK, I'm making a quick post to remind me to put this info in the release post when it's ready.

Notes about loading old saves to get the best bang for your buck (a restart is still recommended to insure 100% stability due to the dev's move to R8 but these notes will get you near 100%):
  • Follow the instructions on the old music files found here in this thread.
  • If you have the MiniStat open then toggle it Off/On after the load. This will reset it's required code so it will function automatically when I need it to. You only have to do this with old saves. If you save it after doing this you won't have to cycle the menu again. All new saves going forward you're good to go.
SanchoNote

Missing audio files exception error... minimization.

A quick post that you should bookmark for later. Due to Drifty losing most of the previous in-game music licenses when you load old saves (whether using the mod or spent your whole life Sancho-free unmodded) you will run across this type of error on most saves that had music playing while the save file was created and later trying to load it inside v1.0, an example is as follows:
You must be registered to see attachments

Easy fix:
  • I'd supply it with the mod but all the old music is ~300mb so fuck that... you can do it yourself. From the uncompressed version of Ch7, copy the 7 music RPA files, specifically: audio01.rpa thru audio07.rpa
  • Paste those files inside v1.0's "game" folder. Don't worry, it won't overwrite the new music as it's all contained in one file named "audio.rpa" (see, it's a different file name, Drifty knows what's up).
  • Note to the above... if you only have the Ch7 compressed version of the VN then copy the "audio" directory from it and paste it inside v1.0's "game" folder. It will have the same effect.
  • Now when you load those old saves with the missing file exception error they will load (rolling back of course since RenPy is pissed off about all the changes) and you'll load error-free... and bonus, the old music file will likely play as well until the new code kicks in and changes it to the newest song.
1. Right-click on the VN's executable file
2. In the context menu select "Run with graphics processor"
3. Select your non-integrated processor for best performance

As with any mod, once you create a save file with them installed and later play the game without the mod installed your saves are borked. I've got your back. If you uninstall SanchoMod and later play the same or updated version of the VN un-modded I can make sure that your SanchoMod save files are unbroken. Simply download the following, extract the file, and place it inside the title's "game" folder. It's an extremely small file that only insures that the Python calls and variables introduced by SanchoMod won't interfere when playing those modded saves with an unmodded game (pretty cool, right?)
v1.0.1s - Steam compatible, VN update, features added
v0.7.0s - Steam compatible, tweaks
v0.7.0c - Initial release

There are two versions.
Neither is an "add-on" to the other
Both versions: Steam LCN 16017246
Download: -
Note: It is MANDATORY that you follow the instructions on the old music files found here in this thread.
Do NOT install this version without reading and taking those exact steps first.

I came from steam just to say that this game is one of the most beautiful and emotional visual novels I've ever played. Cece's story is so heartbroken and at the same time it's inspiring. I cried while playing this and let me tell you this. This isn't just a story. This is a masterpiece.

I'm really glad that Cece's story didn't get a perfect happy end, this way it's more realistic.

I don't know if it was always planned this way (I played it since chapter 6 or 7 was released on Steam) or if the dev originally wanted to go full happy ending (don't want to spoil it for people who haven't played it yet). Her current ending is much better imo, especially since most of the story was already written in quite a realistic way.
