LC Community & The Future

Well my fellow lurkers and denizens of the LC community, I honestly don't even know what to say or think at this point.

What a wild ride it was.

I'm very proud of the way people came together and interacted with the same goal and purpose. We were part of something big and we got crushed. Still we made friends along the way. Interacted with people we never would have met otherwise. Had fun in a way that we wouldn't have. It was amazing and I enjoyed it.

Unfortunately the staff of this site decided to pull the plug and while I don't like that decision, I do understand it to some degree. But I don't like the way they went about it. Staff was present in the thread throughout and they suddenly and without warning pulled it. They could have left it but they deleted it. To be fair it was full of content that was probably eating up a lot of their server space but still...

What really upsets me at this point though is that they have pulled VIP from all the people that worked to get that. Why? Probably because they want to raise the price...

I honestly cannot wrap my head around why these people seem so hell bent on crushing the community spirit of a site that needs a community to drive it.

So, I don't know where this goes from here or even if I'm going to stick around.

For god sake please don't like anything here in this thread since they will reap your soul for it...

i pulled it because 99.5% of all replies on it where liked by an abusive command, & it was a mega thread on like for like for the most part, i get you dislike it but i did what was best for not mudding up the currency rate.

No I do get it. I just don't like the way it was handled but it's your site. I have no rights here.

Like I said in discord the thread went off track from what I wanted it to be but it was still a community in there. And the VIP thing is just.. well I said what I said already.

Here i am, tried to get to sinners section, tought the section itself was nuked, so i go to the first thread in front page trying to get some context, now that i see all the DRAMA going on, for fuck bro, i can say one thing, if you all did it for more activity, cognrats, here i am, a lurker that first saw the site 4 months ago, now posting on this thread.

Why not kill the likes then and leave the thread atleast (locked all be it) so we can still find who we were talking with... Man I finally find someone to talk about music and then just get shafted. Warning maybe would've been nice too since most of us (if not all) thought it was fine and we were even "moderating" the thread ourselves by warning people to stop posting restricted content in there.

not it was to deter a rat from reporting to our host. nothing to do with user engagement.

With the new rules, we can still have the same thread, we were talking, laughing, and responding. The command makes no difference when you're literally reading and liking or reacting to all the comments that you found funny or cool idk.

Well, i kinda get why they did it, there were bots running in the thread and also I mean, they did the system we have to keep some individuals away, and the thread made it pointless in a way, I do hate we have to grind to get there now, and the monetization thing kinda worries me a little, but it is new, they have time to refine it, changes are being made as we go it seems.

You have no idea my friend, about the VIP, seems like they are changing something and add a new tag maybe, the price will probably change too

You can even tell since people like yourself sometimes reacted with a different emoji so it's pretty clear you are reading something. Just annoyed we got shafted out of the blue, fuck the e-peen likes who cares. Now I may never know what that guy thought about my "amazing" band suggestions!

Oh, sorry, i guess it makes more sense now, i never really liked these Forum style sites, but these are around since the 90's for a reason, why change the wheel if it works.
Not going to donate now, too much drama going on and not used to do so, but for sure hell i will do in the future.
